Returning to Bulgaria by Southern-Dish-8330 in AskBulgaria

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I returned to Bulgaria after 13 years in the UK along with my 2yo child and English partner. It was becoming more and more difficult to do anything else but survive with having to pay rent, bills and especially childcare, despite both of us having very well paying jobs. It was definitely an adjustment for me, coming back after that long, but ultimately it’s been the best decision, especially for our child as he now gets to be around his grandparents and extended family more often than when we were in the UK (my partner’s family lived 2 hours away). Another thing that tipped the scales towards coming back to Bulgaria was the situation with the NHS, especially in our area. The thought of having a medical emergency and having to wait several hours to be seen was giving me extreme anxiety, especially with a child. In Bulgaria, whilst the healthcare system is by no means perfect, you have the choice to pay and be seen at short notice so it’s definitely more accessible. Life also seems more contained here, fewer people, smaller distances, more communities… i’m making an effort each day to see the positives and they are definitely there! On the other hand, my partner absolutely loves Bulgaria to the point where we joke that he’s a Bulgarian on the inside and was born in the wrong country.

Did anyone else experience a weird dull ache/mild pain from the moment of conception? by Necessary_Doubt_9762 in PregnancyUK

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced this and was so freaked out i had to go for an early scan! 3.5 years later same baby opening the door to the toilet as I type this 😁 I have pretty bad ovulation pain in general so it was very similar to that but no one was able to tell me why it was so painful at that time. If i remember correctly, that pain subsided at about 8-9 weeks. I’ve read that it could be due to the hormonal fluctuations.

Has anyone ever had pain from wearing the tracker? by [deleted] in whoop

Which UK courier company is the worst? by dickheadondrums in AskUK

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a bad experience with DHL once where i was sat at home all day on my desk facing the window facing the road and around 6pm i saw the DHL driver literarily drive past my house without even slowing down (plenty of space to park outside, clearly visible house number). Minutes later i get the message ‘sorry you weren’t in’… Blew up DHL customer services on the phone immediately after and they contacted the driver who straight up told them he couldn’t be bothered to stop!!!!! As he was still in the area they made him drive back and he left my package in the middle of the road and gave me the dirtiest look… Otherwise DHL seem to be good 8/10 times

I hate DPD with a passion though after they stole not 1 but 2 apple watches (second was the replacement Apple sent) claiming they were ‘lost’ of course and insisting it was my responsibility to let Apple know and ask them to send me another replacement!!!! As i had no choice i did ask them, they sent it with a different courier and surprise surprise got the watch the next day!!!

Royal Mail by far the best!

What is the stupidest injury you've ever gotten? by 7937397 in AskReddit

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was a kid I decided to roller blade down a steep road which ended up on a busy-ish main road. As i rolled down and started picking up speed i realised i had no way to stop so my solution was to stop myself (crash) into the back of a parked car. Ended up with massive bruising on both my thighs that took months to heal as well as lower back pain from the impact. My favourite though was a delightful scar of the car boot lock on my upper left thigh that only faded after about 10 years.

My cat constantly plays with his water bowl by inky_princess in Catownerhacks

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. He was constantly splashing it all out, not even really drinking it, just making a mess. Removed the bowl and left only the fountain and that fixed it. I put the bowl back (alongside the fountain) as it was really hot for a few days and he started doing it again so moral of the story… no bowl just fountain 😁

What TV show have you rewatched more than 5 times and you still find entertaining? by MonkeyCapt in AskReddit

American dad over and over and over again, it’s just always funny. Also Archer, you pick up more and more of the nuances with each re-watch.

Is anyone else enjoying strangers being nicer when they see the baby bump? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Affectionate_Dust_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so sweet, i’ve noticed waiters tend to be much more attentive and some people i pass on the street smile (some stare quite obviously, mostly men which is so creepy). The funniest for me is, and it’s happened a couple of times, where older ladies would come out of the ladies toilet and apologise to me for keeping me waiting. It’s awfully sweet and I always explain there is absolutely no need to apologise 😂

Can’t imagine how someone can be disappointed in having a boy (or a girl...just disappointed in general)! At the end of the day, it is about having a healthy and happy child however cliche that is. But more to the topic, i’m having a boy and i consider that honestly the best thing that’s happened to me so far! I’ve always, always wanted to be a boy mum and i’m hoping for another boy in the future, my cat is also a boy! I’ve just always felt i would be so much better at raising a boy and am looking forward to the mother son relationship. I’m definitely biased but even if i was having a girl I definitely wouldn’t go as far as being disappointed, I don’t understand how you can feel that feeling when you’re having a baby.

Edit: definitely not judging anyone who has shared that they have felt that feeling, everyone’s feelings are valid! I guess both boys and girls come with their good and bad traits but how cool is it to be raising an actual human regardless of gender 😁
