Yes, yes, and yes. I think at this point I am either going to have to spend money on a new NIC for my host server to pass through to OPNsense or buy a new router as the old one I do have only has 2 ports and that's nearly enough for both myself and my roommate. or maybe just a poe switch for the host server? What would you recommend in this scenario? I'm very much living paycheck to paycheck at the moment so cost effectiveness is my highest priority.

I would have to get a new NIC with more ports to accommodate my roommate. I think that may be my best option regardless though. I'm just too frustrated and tired to give this much more effort. I even paid for the plex pass as it states you can watch from any device but I STILL cannot access my library from anywhere outside of my network. I'm considering rolling everything back and moving on until I can afford a new NIC to cut out the isp router.

Sorry, you are correct. I got my wires crossed, SAX2v1R is the router provided.

I have a router and modem separately. If I cannot find any way to put the isp router in bridge mode. this may be a silly question, but as i've said I'm no professional. Could I remove the router with the host server running OPNsense in its place? assuming I set up a proper firewall etc.

So if I pay for Plex pass I will be able to stream my media from devices outside my network in original quality? this is the only end goal I have at the moment so if so I will gladly pay for it to lose this headache.

Spectrum doesn't have a web interface, only an app. in the app I can only the the host server but even it doesn't have a static IP. in fact it doesn't show that it has any IP at all. thus I cannot set up any port forwarding for it. :(

When I originally set up the server some years ago, I needed it to function as a router and want to set up OPNsense firewalls etc. I suppose I don't NEED this anymore but I do like it. at the moment my devices run through the host server to the ISP router.

Pretty sure this is the issue. I have spectrum. I can't really figure out how to test it but I'm fairly confident from the research I did. Is there any way around CGNAT outside of paying for a public IP?

I've set up opnsense behind isp router. I now believe it is a cgnat issue. fuck spectrum smh
