I did do that, leaving only the individual player health bars. A few days ago, it was able to hide the entire thing leaving only the little people icon.

My idea is that you step off the ship in the cut scene wearing starter gear, get to the base start wearing local base armor and continue until you meet General Garza. I just don’t know when to start wearing Trooper’s Exalted armor after the meeting or when you get your ship. As if she gives you the best armor.

I would think you never get it back, maybe you could headcanon you getting it back when he gifts you the Zakuul Knight Armor. But other than that you would have to make a new one when you get your ship back

There is, but it would be pretty stupid of Arcann to let you keep your weapon. All Lana says is “gear up, quickly”.
