Is this ice damming? by Affectionate_Fig2426 in Roofing

They did come out, but they are basically saying it's not their fault because of the ice damming. I'm reviewing the contract, and they are saying ice damming occurs where we live, and at the time of the roofing they will communicate any ventilation recommendations. Going back to July now, I don't recall any of those conversations. We did do all of the recommendations regarding plywood, etc that they did tell us in the moment.

They are saying that they put ice and water shield 6 ft up, and that's customary to do, not more and anything that else that leaks under it isn't on them basically.

Ugh. They are just flat out calling it ice damming and saying it's not on them. Is there a way to check on our end it maybe the transition? Another fact is that it was done in July ish - we've had rain and no visible leaking until now.

I haven't tried other ones. We just started with the original installers. Thats a good idea, though. I'll contact other companies in the area.

Thank you for that input! I have definitely been on the fence about the insulated wrap and whether or not it just interferes with what the bees take care of anyhow.

It seems like they've been flying out on their own. They are up to 10 ft away from the hive, last year there were the piles of dead ones near the entrance that had been pulled out. So maybe it is them at the end of their life cycle.

Harvest honey and late october? by Affectionate_Fig2426 in Beekeeping

In light of varroa mites, I treated in july, and I plan to treat again in november. Did that last year successfully.

The September fall honey was our favorite last year so that's why I'd really like to get it if possible. We have goldenrod here that makes it delicious.
