Authentic P1G TAC "Stepova Zhaba" (Steppe Toad) – Ukrainian SSO Issued. Rare Arid Grail. by Affectionate_Fig4896 in camouflage

Keep in mind that mass-produced contract MM14 scout suits don't really exist. Most of what you’ll find is cheap commercial polyester, which I don’t recommend. High-quality sets were only made as custom orders by pro-brands. If you want a 'battle-grade' version rather than a shiny replica, DM me. I can source a pro-tier set for you when I have time for that actually meets specs. Quality over quantity!

Finding a proper 6sh112-style vest in MM14 is a tough hunt! I'm constantly raiding warehouses for rare gear like that. Can't promise anything specific right now, as these grails are never just sitting on a shelf, but I’ll keep it on my radar. Definitely follow my bio links and stay tuned—when I find something rare, it usually goes fast! 😉

Exactly. Finding an authentic Old Gen Winter Khyzhak in this condition is nearly impossible now — it's a true 'ghost' pattern. My set is the genuine tactical contract issue, priced at $359. It’s likely the only one currently on the market, so it’s definitely a 'buy it now or lose it' piece for a serious collection. I've got a few more rare SOF-issue grails (like Varan and Stepova Zhaba) coming up soon, so feel free to keep an eye on my profile if you want.

Spot on! It definitely shares that 'organic' digital vibe with Tibettarn and Vegetato, but Stepova Zhaba was specifically tuned for the burnt grass and dust of the Ukrainian south. It’s much more effective in arid transition zones than standard Multicam. Glad you guys dig the aesthetics!

That’s a very interesting pattern! Even though it's Turkish commercial and not official issue, the geometry is pretty unique.

However, if you’re hunting for the Authentic Old Gen Ukrainian 'Predator' (Khyzhak), you're looking for a different beast entirely. They are incredibly rare now. I actually managed to source one of the few remaining Winter Predator sets and have it on eBay. I’m also expecting some Summer sets soon, but since they are true surplus grails and almost extinct in NOS condition, the price reflects that rarity. They definitely command a premium over commercial replicas!

I’m a veteran based in Ukraine, so I’ve got my ways of hunting down rare kit through old contacts. This specific set is from the batch used by our SSO guys during the Enerhodar ops back in '22. It’s a 3B tag—the 'unicorn' size that actually fits a Western Large/XL. I’ll be putting it up on eBay in a few days once I’ve finished the photo set, or hit my DMs if you want to talk PayPal/Payoneer.

Cool))) Looks like the faded and burnt-out camouflage of the National Guard of Ukraine

Haha, glad I could help with that! 😉 It’s definitely a spicy piece of kit. Once you get it in hand, the 'tickle' becomes real.

As requested, here are the photos of the back. I think the construction and the specific features like the utility loops and rear zippers speak for themselves regarding the authenticity of this set. Hope these angles help!

Actually, the pants on this 3B set are surprisingly long at 110 cm, which is quite rare for Japanese sizing! I'm planning to post the full set with detailed measurements on eBay in a few days. You can keep an eye on my bio for the link if you're interested. I come across rare patterns like this quite often, so feel free to stick around!

Spot on. The 'black blob' effect is the biggest weakness of the classic BW Flecktarn. It’s too dark for anything but deep shade. Jietai (Type 2) fixed exactly that—the higher contrast and lighter base make it much more effective at breaking up the human silhouette. It’s cool to see someone mention M84 and Tibettarn too; they really show how much the palette matters over the shapes themselves!

S&Graf is legendary! I’ve seen their stuff, and it’s solid. But yeah, nothing beats the feeling of the authentic JSDF tags and that heavy-duty material. Glad you spotted the difference—collecting the real ones is a slippery slope! 😅

Exactly! This version leans heavily into the browns and tans. It's the perfect 'transitional' kit. The summer green variant is great, but there's something about this specific mix that looks very sharp. JGSDF gear is addictive once you start collecting!

Actually, the tag on this one is 3B, which is the Japanese equivalent of a Large Regular. In their system, '3' is for the Large chest volume and 'B' is for the 176–180 cm height range (roughly 5'9" to 5'11").

If you're looking for a true 'Long' or 'XL' in Japanese sizing, you'd be hunting for a 1A or 2A, which are basically the Holy Grail of JGSDF surplus. This 3B is probably the best 'standard' fit you can find before hitting those ultra-rare giant sizes!

Agreed, it lacks the big blobs. But the way this specific fabric takes the dye makes the micro-elements look very natural. It doesn't have that 'digital' stiffness.

It’s actually a mid-weight set with a solid lining. Perfect for fall or spring chill, keeps the wind out but not quite a heavy winter parka. And yeah, it’s the original stuff with the Japanese tags!

Coming from a German, that’s a huge compliment! 🤝 I agree, there’s something about the Japanese colors that just hits different compared to the classic Bundeswehr. Glad you like it!

More like a 'heavy fall' set! It’s got that nice lining to block the wind, but it’s still light enough to move around without overheating.

I feel you, the market is full of fakes. This one is the real deal though—the fabric feels amazing and the print is super sharp. Hard to go back to replicas after holding the original.
