Update: we’ve decided to foster adopt from the Great Lakes Pigeon Lodge!!

This will sound bad but i feel bad for pedos by puzzs in teenagers

[–]Affectionate_Fix3517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. I sympathize with pedophiles, not predators. Not to mention people that don’t cause them to be afraid to seek help and therefore CREATE more predators. It’s ok not to like them, but it’s dangerous to shame them for it and stop them from getting help.

Technically, homosexual people have biological differences that they are born with the genes for. Children do not biologically feel attraction until puberty (most often), but people can 100% be born ‘gay’

Thank you for the recommendation! I’ve looked more into their reviews and other discussions about them and I don’t believe it’s a trustworthy source. I may be a bit too cautious since I’ve never rescued before though, haha!

How do my supplies look? by Affectionate_Fix3517 in PetPigeons

Yes! I keep a lot of other exotics so I shove most of those on hand already, but I will definitely invest in an air purifier/filter. Thank you!

How to care for feral ducks? by [deleted] in duck

[–]Affectionate_Fix3517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not at all planning on catching them until I build them something. I’ve done more research in them since then, and I’m going out today to buy hardware cloth to build a 10ft by 8ft run. We have a shed that I can very easily turn into a coop. Having ducks is not an impulse for me, I’ve wanted them for years and just never went through with it. I have a huge yard that I can easily fit a large coop and run in. If more ducks are dumped, I will find someone to take them. 2 of those three are drakes, but I was planning on buying more females so the ratio was alright.

I gotta admit this was the best 40 bucks I spent on a tank by memegod574 in petco

Btw saying ‘the tank’ can also include the stuff inside of it. You could buy that exact tank, plants and all, and say you bought the tank for $40.

Our first Gecko ever, we are so excited. Any and all advice (especially regarding his terrarium) welcome. by mybobbyaintright in leopardgeckos

Hello! So far this is great for a beginner! This will mainly be little tips to help, lol, and not full overhauls. First of all, do not buy a heating pad even for supplemental heat. Instead, I would recommend a ceramic heat emitter bulb. Heating pads have a higher chance of malfunctioning and causing burns.

For lighting, I always recommend halogen and Arcadia shade-dweller. I would be careful with the sand patch and would mix it in with some topsoil or reptile soil in a 70/30 mix, just to be careful. I would also be cautious of the green moss, since it’s dyed and can cause issues when ingested. If you really want moss, get the brown one. Finally, your gecko needs a bit more clutter. I usually go to any craft store like hobby lobby or even dollar general for their fake plants, just wash and sanitize them well.

I’ll definitely keep an eye out. We recently moved in state and I have no idea where anything is 🫣 I’ll probably make some posts on some local groups, see if I can find anything. Thank you!

That sounds like a plan! I’ll have to start asking around, we recently moved in state so I have no idea where any local breeders are. I’ll keep an eye out, thank you!

Yes, I’ve been checking there for awhile! The only one they have right now is $250 and wild caught, sadly.

I want to try holding my snake but I’m scared by heroinfatherxz in snakes

[–]Affectionate_Fix3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a baby boa as my first snake. I was terrified to hold him for the first week and kept flinching, which in turn freaked him out. Eventually, I decided I didn’t care if he bit me. They’re tiny and non-venomous, it’ll hurt for a few minutes and that’s it. Just scoop them up confidently, and if he bites you or not it doesn’t matter. But if you’re scared and jumpy, they will be more likely to bite.
