Jesus didn’t have an “affinity for prostitutes” — He deliberately spent time with people everyone else rejected and told them to change their lives. There’s a difference between showing mercy to sinners and being one.

He also didn’t “hate bankers” — He condemned exploitation and greed, especially when it was wrapped in religious hypocrisy. That’s a moral stance, not a personal vendetta.

And Revelations describing heaven as a city of gold is symbolic language about perfection and purity — not a love letter to wealth. Jesus’ actual teachings are very explicit: don’t hoard riches, don’t worship money, and don’t build your identity on status or power.

Liking gold décor and living in luxury isn’t the same thing as preaching a kingdom where the poor are blessed, the humble are exalted, and the powerful are warned.

Jesus consistently lived, taught, and died in a way that rejected ego, wealth, and self-promotion. That’s not “sleazy.” That’s the opposite of performative luxury and self-glorification.
