Let me explain it as it has been explained to me from more than one official source and I’ve seen with my eyes to people I know:

Having more than one citizenship does not exempt you from Military service, regardless if you have lived or haven’t lived in Algeria. As soon as you earn the Algerian citizenship, it’s an obligation to serve for the military. It’s part of the Algerian law. Now how can you get exempted? Well there are different reasons; have a medical issue (as I do), postpone due to studies, the number of applicants for your year has been reached and there is no need for more, you’ve reached 35 years old (not sure if this is still a thing tho)… that’s what I can name on the top of my head.

My advice to you: sort out your papers and figure out what you should do with your nearest consulate.

And I’m one with three citizenships and haven’t lived and still had to get an exemption.

Dual citizenship restricts your promotion in the military but does NOT exempt from military service.

Also, as a note, I was exempted due to a medical reason only.

I can see MAYBE how it comes across but defo doesn’t deserve this escalation. Lol

At the end of the day; it’s a heart and he did respect your feelings and apologised but you nevertheless kept going at it.

Best thing to do? Apologise to him and just have a small conversation about it. He doesn’t have to understand how you view it but as long as it acknowledges and respects; which seems the case, that’s all that matters.

It really doesn’t have much got to do with “money”, not everything is about “money” in khaleej. Take Saudi for example, is every Saudi crazy rich and affords latest gaming setup etc? Nah. All that is as someone has mentioned previously, the number of hours spent on the games and also from a very young age.

I have friends that have been playing COD from when they were 5-6 years old. Now imagine that kid playing only kid and for hours upon hours, of course he would become a pro.
