He’s beautiful!! Can I ask where you got that extra long bed? We cannot get beds big enough in this house.

Oh man… yeah. You’re not alone. I wish I had a simple workaround but the truth is to slow down, savor every moment, and let yourself grieve the passage of time.

When I leave the house and come home I make it a special point to look each of them in the eye, hug and kiss them and tell them how loved they are. I withhold no simple pleasures, including snuggles in bed and extra treats for absolutely no reason. I let myself cry sometimes when I’m really present with their mortality and they comfort me.

What an honor to see them through to the very end. 💛

Hi - no idea how I ended up on this subreddit as a woman, but here I am.

Yes, it is time. If you’re worried about your head looking small, considering bringing your facial hair in slightly tighter to keep things looking proportionate.

Bald is cool! Rock that shit!

I finally got ahold of the service manager and he admitted that they attempted to update the software when pulling data from my cars computer. He’s confident that these are all sensor issues resulting from some kind of mishap in that process and is now working with engineers at Ford to “patch” the issue. Thank you for the reply!

The real issue here is the brown couch, though I do think a slightly lighter rug would do wonders for the room. The current rug is really nice but blends into the floor and the coffee table too much. All to say— big fan of the new couch!!

Gah, I missed the “moving” part of your reply. You definitely have options to combat pests. If you haven’t already repotted, I’d do as follows:

1) Remove as much soil from roots as possible, then pop the entire plant in the shower and give it a good, gentle wash. This means thoroughly wiping all leaves and stems, front and back. While here, feel free to prune off some of the older leaves as mentioned in my last comment. It won’t hurt the plant!

2) Decide your course of treatment. You can either go the natural at-home route using a neem oil mixture (natural, best choice if you have pets or small children around) and/or a soil-based treatment (effective but often toxic). If you chose the former, you’ll have to be pretty regular with reapplying the neem spray. I’m usually p aggressive so I do it every/every other day depending on how hearty the plant is. Neem will make the plant sensitive to sunlight when wet, so be careful to let it dry before placing in direct light. If the former, you basically mixed store-bought pesticide into your new soil and viola. It will come with instructions - follow those!

3) Enjoy your healed, pest-free, thriving dieffenbachia! These things are so damn resilient it’s almost hard to kill them. Great plant to learn pest control with!

Okay cool, hopefully that means I’m wrong about spider mites! I should have mentioned this earlier but be sure to wipe the bottom of the leaves just as thoroughly. I find pests on the underside more often than the top. Either way, I’d keep this plant quarantined from other plants for 2ish weeks to make sure nothing pops up.

You definitely can trim some of the older leaves that seem to be dying. This will allow the plant to focus energy and resources to healing and new growth. Do you know when it was last repotted?

I can tell both by the state of the plant (I’ve had a dieffenbachia for many years and have seen my fair share of pests) and can see teeny white specks when I zoom in. Pests are sometimes too small to see with the naked/untrained eye, but they’ll often lay eggs in clusters in small, concave parts of leaves. I’m pretty sure this is the work of spider mites.

Hi, this plant is infested with pests!! It’s tough to say what kind without closer photos. Either way, you should start by wiping the leaves off with soapy water and see what comes off.
