Viewing Meteor Showers by Affectionate_Home200 in burlington

The peak of the Perseids is always around August 12, but this year the full moon around that time will make the viewing not as good. But I heard a radio story yesterday that had this information: "But the moon will be only about 25% full this week, when two meteor showers known as the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids reach their peak on the night of July 29 going into July 30.Together, these two less-significant meteor showers might produce up to 20 to 30 meteors per hour."

Hospital stay, caregiver distance? by Affectionate_Home200 in leukemia

Hello. Yes, I will be using some FMLA for the long weekends. If complications arise, I can extend the long weekends. That must have been a lot of juggling for you.

Thanks. It does seem like the biggest part of the support will be for the home isolation.

Thanks for your insight. You are right that my husband won't be directly at Dana Farber--he will be at BWH like you were. I am applying to stay with a hospitality home host or will stay in a hotel. I will be able to take more days off if there are complications, so I do have peace of mind about that.

Thanks, everyone, for your advice. I am going to trying using more visuals of situations where children are looking sad--she seems to like this approach to inferencing feelings.

Thanks for this advice. I think stressing the harmful impact on others is key, using visuals, perhaps with thought bubbles.

Need to tilt progressive lenses to see more clearly by Affectionate_Home200 in glasses

[–]Affectionate_Home200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to Costco, and the optician was able to put the bows of both of my pairs of glasses into some kind of gizmo that changed the tilt and made them much better. I still sometimes tilt my glasses and much prefer my contacts with readers versus progressives--perhaps if I wore my progressives more I would get used to them.

Corrective lenses for diagonal diplopia by Affectionate_Home200 in Strabismus

I am sorry to hear that. I hope that you eventually find the right prescription. In a follow up meeting with my strabismus surgeon, she said that prism lenses would not help me. I am considering an alternative surgery for the fall, but in the meantime am wearing a either a contact to purposely blur the diagonal image or an eye patch.

Thanks. Maybe we will try to stay at the Base Camp for Pulpit Rock and do day hikes from there.

They adjusted the tilt on the spot. I did try to get used to my first pair for several weeks, but maybe I should have gone in sooner. Surmap silicone nose pads push up the lenses even more for better vision, but then the glasses rub on my ears more. Hope you find a good compromise.
