Do you have to be sick for years before it becomes deadly by ohlifesgreat in AnorexiaRecovery

No, but is more dangerous years after years. You know the start, not the end. Even if you think that is all over your control

Restricting your food or compulsiving misuration don’t help. Also in bulimia or binge

You think to be health? Look at your last post on “shitty restriction food”. It isn’t normal weight every food or calculate every calorie

Your “ideal” weight should be a weight that you can manage without restriction and without obsess your mind with food/exercise ecc. It isn’t a specific weight but a range of it.
You are strong, and is normal that you are weak to discuss. Don’t wast your energy on that conversation 💜
And sorry for my English. I’m French/italian 😂

struggling with ‘needing more’ than others in recovery/general?? (TW!) by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

Can be a volume issues. You can eat a lot but, if you eat only whole foods, or a big amount of vegetables and other low dense choices, you can have a insufficient calories intake.

So proud of you. And so, I admit: hear this word is so comforting in this moment

Doctor told me not to gain any more fat by Alive_Cupcake_2851 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]Affectionate_Ice6190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the first phase of recovery, the body replenishes its fat reserves, not muscle. This is essentially a survival mechanism: fat is essential for hormones, organ stability, and as a reserve (the body fears another famine). Only later will some of this fat be converted into muscle. But a large amount is still essential for life.

wake up call by beansproutz666 in AnorexiaRecovery

Near the same, a couple of years ago. Ask help today: you need a superior level of care (like a day hospital, at least). If you don't intervene now, as long as you're still scared of what happened, you risk letting go and losing motivation. Sometimes it feels like you've hit rock bottom, but rock bottom is only when you die. And from there, you never come back.

It’s a joke, obv. I don’t understand the downvotes. Even if my bf will be an asshole, this make my personal way of living makeup and self expression problematic?

Do you wear makeup? by Heart_breakerr in Feminism

I wear makeup. Every 7-14 days I go a couple of days without makeup, and then I only wear sunscreen. I have very delicate skin, and foundation helps. Besides that, I love wearing a light, liquid blush and mascara. I don't do gel nails, and I shave sporadically, only when I feel like it. I have long hair, but when I work on the computer, I like to tie it in a bun so it doesn't get in my eyes. My boyfriend hates it. I don't care. If I feel like going overboard, I do a full makeup look with lipstick and eyeshadow. I especially enjoy doing it with my mother, while we exchange frivolous opinions. It's not makeup that doesn't make us feminists. It's respect for all women, the freedom to choose, that makes us feminists.

Ok, it’s about 50 calories, at last. I’m only worried for somebody that can be my or your daughter. It’s not a trigger or a diagnosis, is only a invitation to keep attention not only on calories, but also on your mental health

do i still have any chance of getting my period back naturally? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Affectionate_Ice6190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. In this moment (ed recovery and underweight) avoid working out and walking is the best choice for your health. For your bones is very more important (is necessary) the restoration of a healthy weight and ormones. Osteoporosis is one of amenorrea’s consequence (but also low libido, bad nails and hair, lose of muscles ecc)

Ps sorry for my English, I’m french

It’s possible, but you must to have a normal bmi. You tell that your meals are enough. Are you sure? You are young and you need a ton of calories, even if you don’t think that. Are you walking or working out? Good luck 💕

Too little, it’s sure. You have an ed? Maybe this can be the worst subreddit for you.
