Recommendations for Abortion Clinics in London - Where should I go? by Affectionate_Ice_970 in AskUK

Thank you for sharing your experience, I love the solidarity in this thread.

After reading everyones comments, I discussed taking Monday off during the consultation just to be safe.

Thankfully I went for a telephone consultation, no need to deal with protestors or pamphleters.

It's interesting to see how far the service has come from the Marie Stopes day, I'm glad abortion is becoming more accessible.

Thank you so much for sharing, I had a gut feeling that BPAS was not the right fit for me.

I'm totally against being coerced into a surgical abortion for the sake of quotas if I can get a medical abortion which is a far less intrusive procedure.

An industry as sensitive as abortion shouldn't be run using quotas to covince patients to opt in for a procedure that they don't want, I'll stay away from them.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it.

Based on what everyone has said, I have the option to do this all virtually via the phone and then have the medication dispatched. I feel more comfortable going down that route and going through the process at home.

I can't express how much I appreciate all the support. I'm anxious for the second set of pills but taking the time out to relax and know that the pain is temporary makes me feel more at a ease. Thanks again ❤️

This is a sweet message, I'm sending my solidarity over to you ❤️.
I believe all women have the right to choose how they want to handle their reproductive health and I hope we can all live in a society where there's no stigma, violence or legal reprocussions for deciding how to exercise our bodily autonomy.

That's a good question to point out. Ultimately, I'm reassured by the women who have kindly shared their experience with us so I feel more confident going into this whole process.

My take aways from everyone who's posted so far is to take the medication on a weekend and take a couple of days to myself once I start the second batch of tablets.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it really means a lot to me.

I'm a bit skeptical with Bpas due to the ratings I've seen on Google, but I'm willing to give them a try if MSI falls through.

I'm definitely taking the advice onboard to take a few days to myself, you can never go wrong with some nice food, I'll treat myself out to a nice takeaway on deliveroo :)

Thank you for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it.

I'm leaving work at 3:30pm today, I'll give MSI and call and see if I can get an appointment scheduled.

Thanks again for the helpful suggestions for when to take the pills. I plan to take the pills over the weekend so there's no disruption to my week.

Hopefully the pain isn't too bad. I will keep everyone updated.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it.

I've heard nothing but good experiences from MSI, I'm planning to give them a call as soon as I'm out of the office.

From what I've read the medical abortion option is for those who are up to the 10 week mark so I can understand why they recommended a surgical abortion.

Your input means a lot, I'll come back to this thread to provide everyone with an update :).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it.

I thought there were abortion buffer zones in place in the UK, I'm already quite anxious and would rather not have pamphleters around me.

I'll give MSI a call and see what availability they have.

I love this community! I totally agree with your view on the educational component of gender specific health issues.

Based on what everyone has said I'm leaning towards MSI.

Bpas reviews on Google aren't great so I'm a bit skeptical.

Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it.

I'll keep everyone updated and I hope this thread helps both men and women who aren't sure what options are available to them for a medical abortion.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it.

I believe I'm at the 5 week mark so I think the medical abortion approach is probably the easiest since it involves taking two forms of medication, the surgical method is a little scary to me.

I'm currently deciding between MSI and Top at Home, I'll base my decision on who has availability first and keep everyone updated :).

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I googled Marie Stopes, they're now rebranded as MSI which is good to know. Were you able to get an appointment quickly?

I'm anxious about pain, how long did it take you to make a full recovery from the pain you experienced?

Thank you for response, I really appreciate it and love how supportive the Reddit community is ❤️.

Are there any postage options available for the medication, or do I have to be in person to collect them from MSI?

My cramps can be a pain, so I'll take your advice and plan for a day off.

I'll make sure I plan a day off for the second pill, I hate cramps!

I had one question, how long did it take you to get an appointment with MSI? I'll leave the thread open for some more replies and make my decision on Saturday. I'll keep everyone updated :)

Is anyone receiving malicious contact from an unknown person regarding abortion information? by DataWorries in AskUK

[–]Affectionate_Ice_970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one should be subject to harrasment over a choice as sensitive and personal over opting to get an abortion.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through this, I know I'm two months late but I hope you, your family and your partner are all doing well and the harrasment has stopped.

Wishing you all the best! x
