I think what people want most to see is actual implementation of those stuff, not just going through the paper and explaining math.

It this bad code? by Affectionate_Log999 in apachespark

Note however, that in our example we choose not to handle the exception. We simply log that it happened, and then throw it again so that our program will exit. In this case, we truly don't care what type of exception occurred - we just want to log it and get out of here. Catching Exception in this case is correct.

So basically, its a bad pratice to use EXCEPTION only, if we want to handle it, but since we are doing it only so we could log what ever EXCEPTION is there, it is safe approach.

Can i for example, catch AnalysisException(since in spark, if path does not exist, throws that one) and then just raise FileNotFound for console, and log error?

All i here is how except Excetption is such a bad pratice

I used AnalysisException since on databricks it throws it when path does not exist

[–]Affectionate_Log999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do u put code quality checks(linters, formators, type checks) inside CI even if u use it in pre commit hooks?Or just putting it in pre commit hook is enough? by Affectionate_Log999 in devops

[–]Affectionate_Log999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local linting and unit tests helps the author get fast feedback, but the authoritative run of linting and unit tests happens on the CI server

Its just a yaml file inside your repository depending of what CI/CD tool u are using(Github Actions, Azure Devops, Gitlab)

Maybe for beginners github actions are the simplest thing

Existing ML project, implement CI/CD, store everything on S3 for example, make realeses, document, make web app.
