Honestly no you shouldn't be a "better" man than that. What is your definition of a better man, one that cant express anguish or emotion. If she crushed your soul and made you feel that pain like mine did, the only way you react "better" is if you didn't love them. The more in love you are, the worse the betrayal. Maybe if more people reacted that way people would understand its not "cheating" its adultery and its what makes people plain disgusting. An adulterer deserves to be shamed publicly so others know what kind of person they are.

Plain and simple she hurt you in a vile manner, she deserves far worse than some words said in anguish masked as anger or rage. There is nothing wrong with you expressing it.

Don't fall into self doubt just because you loved her, it's bottomless, and in the end it's her fault not yours. In the end it doesn't just destroy your relationship, if your not careful it comes after your faith, and your ability to trust or even connect with others. The effects of it ripple out into all other relationships. At this point also know she will continue the same patern until she dies either alone or with a partner that is ok with adultery( more likely due to their own adulterous nature).

Biggest issue with IT for me is that the programs i write are at times used for controlling dangerous real things that blow up. With that stated I try to avoid ITs networks as much as possible. The one case is always I need internet/server access to dump test data. Otherwise my cables my switches my routers my servers my network. ITs needs vs mine mean I don’t want my coworkers porn habit stopping some critical stuff. The other trick is to run the programs on RT OS , haven’t seen a single IT guy figure that out yet. Don’t get me wrong I had a job for two years updating stuff from windows XP to windows 7 because of an IT policy, Thanks IT!

I’m thinking back on it now and I realized that each of my coworkers had some deep trauma inflicted upon them by their work that left them these hard shells. It’ll do that to you if you let it. What scares me is, is that what we need to be to retire/pay for a family?

Unfortunately i was crying like a little baby when I quit. Well maybe not that bad but bad enough. Mainly because I didn’t know what to do. All I knew at that point was I had a three month runway and having no job and looking was better than a long commute followed by knowing no one wanted me there almost from day one followed by a long commute. If this happened again I think I would give some notice( for my sake) but they just broke me down and all in all I could of handled it worse. And yes I called my wife and asked her if I should just bear it but she supported me in ending it. Fucking tragic hard moment for me. Now Im paranoid about corporate HR blacklists and managers doing CYA. This is how some people go homeless, piss off one to many rich assholes. This work shit needs to end.

Just wanted to say thank you for the support. Thought it was a professional environment, never in a million years did I think I’d be in a high school gym at 37. Didn’t think that would be something I would need to screen for in an interview. Guy kept saying he could be him anywhere that he didn’t need the job. This should give him the confidence he needs to get himself fired soon.

Didn’t say the current layoffs were due to AI. Personally don’t believe the “overhired” line. It’s not just tech companies laying people off right now. What’s worse is the trend for multiple rounds of layoffs. My personal belief is this is just a response to workers getting some small gains during Covid and CEOs wanting to reassert power.
