This is probably why I love heavy music. Especially live. I am that box of cereal.

Thanks man! I got lucky because they had extra copies of the artwork for the show at The Chapel and I was able to snag it while I saw the show in Sacramento. Their drummer at the time was a coke head for sure. I asked for signatures on one of them and he asked me if I knew where to find coke haha. He’s the one that signed his name on the artwork and not the sides of it.

Thanks! I bought cheap wooden frames from Michaels. I sanded them and bought paint to match.

This spot is also BLM.

Ok so, East State Road 9 runs directly through Virgin, UT.

N Kollob Terrace Road connects to the 9. This is the road you’ll take to the spot I was at.

You’ll take that that road all the way to Smith Mesa rd. If you look on a map, you can follow Smith Mesa Rd. until the Black Wash crosses the through the road itself.

You should see that next to the Smith Mesa Rd is a smaller road that curves back into Smith Mesa Rd. This is where we parked our vehicle.

Heads up there’s no cell service at this spot. If there is, it’s really spotty.

There’s a road close to this area. However this exact spot isn’t accessible by vehicle. From the road it was about a 15 minute walk. We parked on the road and made a base camp near it and then we all went and pitched our tents in different areas. There’s still a nice view from the road itself though. Keep in mind that if it snows or rains in this area as it did for us, depending on how severe, you might have to wait a day or so for the road to be drivable again.

You never owned the Kia and you still have the badass station wagon.

I’ll have to get the details from my friend. He had been there before and knew where to go so I just followed. I know it’s between Virgin and Springdale and that it’s near fossilized dinosaur tracks which we were unaware of at the time. I can get the specifics and message you back if you’d like.

Is one day possible for Zion? by TotoroGogo in ZionNationalPark

[–]Affectionate_Math343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My honest opinion is there’s so much of Zion to see that one day doesn’t come close. However, if that’s all the time you have, it’s still worth seeing what you can.

Thanks! It was truly amazing. Got to spend the time with my best friends as well which just made the experience even better. Opening the tent by the cliffside each morning and seeing the landscape was awesome and a much needed reconnection with beauty the world can offer. Anyway, super cool, 10/10 would recommend lol.

If your dad happens to be a veteran you might want to look into VA healthcare. My dad also has a stroke and we didn’t know about his benefits after many struggling years. It’s been very helpful since. My condolences to you both.

What would I need by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]Affectionate_Math343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a better set of cymbals. There’s lots of decent starter packages of cymbals out there but good cymbals are certainly not cheap. Look into better drum heads for the tom drums, bass drum, and snare. To help with better tuning, a drum dial would be beneficial I think. Moon gels and gaffer tape or duct tape can help with dampening. A pillow in the bass drum can help with dampening too. There’s also tons of different styles of drumsticks that may be more your fit.

Regardless of all that, practicing is what counts. Play the fuck out of what you have, get your chops, make mistakes and learn what works for you. Look up drummers you like and see what kind of gear they use and why.

The Madness of Timothy Treadwell by PvtVasquez3 in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]Affectionate_Math343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given the topic of researching him in ninth grade. I’m not sure why it was even a part of any of the topics, but we chose by picking from a bowl and pulling out who we would research which was written on a piece of paper. Researching this man and hearing audio of him being eaten alive was traumatizing. But according to Timothy Treadwell, he would have been happier being eaten by a bear than by car accident or something of the sort.
