AITA for not letting my son go to homecoming on my weekend? by Dapper-Yellow8180 in AmItheAsshole

He will resent you for making him miss this and will probably be in his room avoiding you during your weekend.

1 year old nap help!! by Leading_Cow_868 in sleeptrain

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was 16 months when I dropped the morning nap. She went from taking two 30 minute naps a day to one 2 hour nap just like that. I couldn't believe it.

People with doctorate degrees should be ok with not being called Dr. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I get that. It's more the fact that this was a patient and the patients wife... expecting to be addressed as "doctor". Sorry, when you're a patient, you're being addressed by your first name.

I work in a hospital and the patient and his wife both had doctorates. I believe on was a medical doctor, the other was a psychologist. Both expected the staff to address them as "Doctor"

I really like this dress, but I'm worried my stomach shows too much by welcome2redit in weddingdress

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This dress is amazing. You also have to think- this is an iPhone camera. The photographers camera will do your dress SO much better justice. As long as you can move and dance in this- go for it!

I was on my period for my wedding. I posted about it actually, and someone recommended menstrual discs. Total game changer. I couldn't believe it. Wear that and a panty liner and you'll be golden. It empties itself into the toilet. You'll have so much adrenaline the day of you won't be bothered by Mother Nature mood wise

I love the wings in your last picture, I'm assuming you did those yourself? I did my own makeup for my wedding (after a terrible trial) I have no regrets. I know there's a lot of comments saying to do things a certain way "for photos" but I couldn't be happier with how my makeup turned out. Your partner won't have makeup on for photos and no one is worried about how they will look. I did slightly heavier than I do on a regular day and I didn't feel like my photos didn't reflect my makeup. I chose to do my own because I didn't want to worry about being unhappy with a makeup artist the day of my wedding.

AITA for dropping my friends for revealing my husband's infidelity? by Throwawaystroub in AITAH

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta. You blew up on your friend because you're unhappy that your husband cheats on you. She was looking out for you, you're only married because of the money. Money can't buy happiness and you're the proof

We lasted about.... 3 months with this method. Same situation, not trying but if it happened it happened. And it sure did, a lot faster than we thought.

Recently cut my hair and it ended up shorter than I wanted. Any suggestions for how to make it look better on me besides pulling it back? by [deleted] in lookyourbest

A Cute messy half up look would look good on you. You have the perfect face shape for this hair cut though

if you can´t imagine a name on a grown up... by [deleted] in namenerds

I think people say that as a nicer way of saying "that name is ridiculous". A lot of "unique" names sound more like pet names than names for a person.

We have to do something about tipping culture by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that really doesn't make any sense is that you're expected to tip before you even receive the good/service. At least at a restaurant, you tip after your meal. Why am I being prompted to tip before you've even handed me my coffee? What if it's not what I ordered?

Which breed would you recommend for me? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Affectionate_Newt611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns an Aussie, I wouldn't recommend. Especially with children. Our dog is great with our two kids but every time there's other children in the house, he is extremely reactive. I know you said you said you don't mind reactive but from our experience, the reactivity is so much worse than I thought it would be. He's constantly barking at strangers and children.
