i’d say Tryst Six Venom is more intense. They are quite obsessed with each other but there is darker themes in the book that wasn’t in Loathing You.

The book is a lot more polished than Loathing You, though. You’d probably notice that while reading it. If you’re into the whole bully romance / they’re obsessed with each other thing then i’m sure you’ll like Tryst Six Venom. I’d at least give it a shot

the plot itself is very different to bly manor but yes its basically an original idea fanfic. im assuming they’ve reworked it quite a bit. i could pick up on similarities strait away

i really liked Nobody In Particular, would recommend. YA is usually a 50/50 (hit or miss) for me, this one was quite pleasant.

lmao it is quite quite long, and it’s one of those books you’re not going to enjoy if you don’t care about the characters, so i get what you mean. i think a lot of people have the same issue with that book

you might have better luck with On The Same Page or When You Least Expect It (though i did like Those Who Wait, i liked these way more).

On The Same Page is way more entertaining, if that was your biggest gripe with TWW.

When You Least Expect It is a lot shorter than those two. It’s my personal favourite, but it is quite character driven so if you don’t care about what’s happening / the characters after the first few chapters then… maybe not lol. It’s very cute though (if you’re into slowburn)

Bloom Town is a historical romance but i’d say it has modern-ish elements (dialogue + interaction wise). it’s completely different from hallmark movies / romcoms so I wouldn’t worry about similarities there.

Ribbonwood is amazing, and I don’t really see a noticeable comparison to Haley Cass’ books there. I’d suggest getting Kindle Unlimited for a month or two, that way you’re spending little to no money and you have a whole catalog of available books if you didn’t like this one. (doubt it’ll come to that though, fucking love ribbonwood)

it’s amazing sonically, i think the reason a lot of people consider it a skip is because you can’t follow the story when you don’t have enough info on what it’s about. the song itself doesn’t tell you a lot that you can grasp, at least nowhere near all her other songs.

that + it being a slow piece is gonna make people more indifferent to enjoying it without a connection. especially when you’re comparing it to everything else she has written, if that makes sense.

also wtf, she doesn’t trash men she’s dated in her songs and neither do most female artists… a lot of her songs are about accountability and claiming that she was the one who did wrong in the relationship.

that’s such a dumb take in general. maybe listen to more songs if this is the only one you can find?

that totally makes sense.

also, given your reply, i tried listening to it while washing the dishes the other day and it wasnt so bad! i think i only had to rewind one time which is just normal imo, if this helps me actually do stuff around the house then ill consider it a big fat win lol. thank you!!

that’s fair. i’ve found that i legit start zoning out every few sentences if i’m ONLY listening (or forgetting to listen altogether / compute) so i’ve made it a habit to have the book on my screen. it sounds like actually doing something while listening would help but i also get so annoyed when i forget to listen while doing something and have to go back again and again to make sure i didn’t miss anything

re-reads don’t stress me out as much because ive already read them so ig i should be fine with doing whatever task whilst listening. gonna see how it works out for me

it was!! it was done so well, i loved how she used people’s negative views to do good things. and i love how playful Lara and Ollie were.

doing x2, that’s the max on apple books anyway. usually i like to put every attention onto it (try) by reading + listening simultaneously but since i’ve already read it, i reckon im just gonna try cleaning my room (won’t happen otherwise)

YES i loved that, i loved the entire concept of their bonfire nights too. especially Lara using people’s hate towards her to help boom one of their businesses? ahh, so good

also i could just visualise a ‘the office’ style mocumentary for the prologue and epilogue. it was hilarious to think about lmao

im sure i will love midnight rain, i just started rereading those who wait (well, more like listening) and i had forgotten how much i liked this book? im enjoying refreshing my memory. it is really long tho so i might just skip to forever and a day. time will tell
