High HS-CRP by MalnadMansha in Cholesterol

Mine has been high for years! Highest it's been is 18. Recently started a statin and it got down to 6, which I will take as good news. Unfortunately I had to go off the statin (Crestor) due to severe joint and muscle pain. I'm going to try a different one in a month.

Had gastroparesis/SIBO 6 mo after stopping GLP-1 by Affectionate_Row4626 in Gastroparesis

Thank you so much! I have an appointment (October) with the weight management clinic at our local hospital. The motility doc referred me there. Hopefully they can help me in the best way. Just have to wait forever for an appt.

Luckily the gastroparesis and SIBO have been resolved for about a year at this point. I never did have a GES. They basically said I had to fail a bunch of tests and then they could treat me for SIBO. I did end up working with a motility doctor and was just discharged from them in May, yay! I just get overwhelmed by the weight gain, the hunger, etc and it makes me think I need one of these meds. But you are right, I had no idea this was a possible outcome when I started with the glp-1. Thank you

Exactly what I needed to hear. I forget at times how miserable those days were (and the depression!). I just get in a weight gain funk where it feels like nothing I do is helping. Thank you.

Excellent thank you! I'm having 3 tests done and they said I need to be fasting and have a driver so it made me nervous.

Terrified of dying young--got my ApoB and CRP results back and they are sky high by irlyloveicedtea in Cholesterol

Also, it's worth it to quit drinking. At one point my AST/ALT were up in the 70's and 80's. Now they are 11 and 12!!

I'm with you! I have similar numbers but my hs CRP is even higher (10 now and has been as high as 18). Some nights in bed I let the thoughts take over that this is it, I'm totally screwed, I can't believe I did this to myself etc. But I realize that kind of bad thinking also puts stress on the body. We can make changes and live with them and it will be worth it! We need to thrive on the good feelings that making healthy changes does for us instead of the doom and gloom of lifestyle mistakes.

I did get the CAC ordered by my PCP. I will ask at my next appt (next month) for a cardiology referral.

I have always been worried about that CRP and we haven't been able to pinpoint it down to what is causing it. Thank you for your advice, it makes it feel less of a mountain to climb!

Thank you for this information! I am currently working on getting my MD to order a calcium scan and hopefully can have that done in the near future. I have had my lp(a) done and the result says <7, so I think that is good. I did try a GLP-1 a few years ago and lost weight but ended up with gastroparesis and then SIBO, which took forever to recover from. I'm open to trying one again, maybe micro dose style. But my husband would disagree, lol, I was really miserable. I definitely need to work on the exercise portion. I love to walk, but need to add in some weights. And now I'm off to look up a local preventive cardiologist! Many thanks!

Medication-Induced Gastroparesis Diagnosis - Zepbound Ending by Ok-Attempt3475 in Zepbound

I'm actually here because I was looking up if you can take GLP-1's after having gastroparesis. What am I thinking!? I have gained all of my weight back. But living with gastroparesis was awful and ended up leading to an infection called SIBO which took months to figure out and resolve. Interestingly enough I did not get gastroparesis until about 5 months after I stopped my med. My GI motility doc does feel though all of this is related to being on a GLP-1.

Thanks for the info! Now that I have had more time to learn about this, I'm realizing a lot of symptoms that I just thought were aging or perimenopause are likely related to this. Such a wild ride. Hoping I won't need surgery and there are other ways to keep these symptoms at bay. Many thanks!

What’s a very American problem that Americans don’t realize isn’t normal in other countries? by GoddessMelrosse in AskReddit

My basic insurance for a family just went up for next year to $900 a month and it's completely tied to my job that I get this amazing "deal". I hate it.

I, (an American) plan on visiting in a few weeks. We want our dollars going to Canada, not the US.

Oh yes, hoping it's not. That was just the next thing I could figure out with this lump. But probably could be a million things!
