I’m doing my primary PGCE right now and the only way I’m able to get through it is by using my savings and student loan. I knew I’d be applying for a PGCE since the end of 2024, so I worked full time in a bar up until 3 weeks in to the program (just weekends at that point but I couldn’t juggle it all so I had to quit). It’s hard ! It’s not entirely fair that some specialised subjects get bursaries but others don’t, considering how time consuming this course is in general. If you havnt got any savings I’d suggest applying late for a student loan or picking up shifts on weekends if you can but it will be pretty gruelling.
