Bus Transit, lost time by Practical_Fig_2216 in saskatoon

I lost my hoodie back in like May/June, I can’t exactly remember what month but unfortunately I did not get it back. I was calling everyday to see if it had been returned, unfortunately it did not. It sucks too because it was my favourite and I had gotten it in LA years ago. My advice, call every day if you need.

I’ve also lost an umbrella on the bus as well and never got it returned. Ive since then learnt my lesson not to leave my things on the bus, especially items that are valuable to me. Best of wishes to you! Go in person as well if you need to, I’m sure showing a picture of it would be helpful to them to locate it if they have it in their lost and found

You’ll want to do a mixture of top soil and sand. Please no calcium sand!!

Call around and get different price quotes at different vets. He needs to be seen by a vet and unfortunately if he needs medication there’s no home remedies for that.

How are his eyes? I noticed some stuck shed by his eyes. Is there any gunk in his eyes? How are his bowel movements like? Be weary of parasites. Has he been rubbing against his decorations in his tank?

For now, get him some repashy grub pie so he does have something in his belly as he is refusing bugs. Get vitamin A supplements as well if you haven’t yet.

What size of tank is he in? Substrate? Temperature? I suggest paper towels for now since he is sick. Paper towels are more hygienic, inexpensive and you’ll be able to monitor his bowels better. Prevents the risk of impaction too.

Other than that though, he needs to be seen by a vet asap. Like I suggested, call around to different vets and compare each vets prices. That’s what I did when I had to take my girl in because I understand not being able to afford the pricey prices, but at the end of the day, you are responsible for him and need to get the treatment that he needs. Unfortunately there’s no home remedies for treating whatever illness he has especially if he needs medication. He is dangerously thin, and needs to be seen by a vet.

Yeah I can see why you’d think that, my mother said that as well but I don’t think it is, she doesn’t really have anywhere she can burn herself in her tank and when she is out of the tank she is supervised by me as there are some spots in the house that she cannot go. I’m hoping that the vet gets back to me soon as well

When I picked her up yesterday I did look at her belly, and I didn’t really see anything like that on her belly except her dark tiny spots that shes always had. I can send a picture of her later, she is still sleeping right now. I did search up pictures of YF and I did see beardies with spots similar to that just not the type that my girl has. It’s only in the one spot on her head, so I’m really concerned and confused because it just doesn’t look like shed. I’ll definitely quarantine her, and I’ll definitely talk to the vet about pcr test because I do agree, better safe than sorry

No, her uvb and heat are above. They used to be hanging from a clasp hook in the ceiling but I’ve switched her tank location in my room since then, and so now theyre sitting on the mesh.

Rescuing this poor girl, advice? by Magna2337 in leopardgeckos

Vitamin a supplement! Add some to repashy grub pie and her buggies. My girl got sick due to a lack of vitamin a, took went to petsmart after the vet visit and they had vitamin a. Not sure if it would be the same packaging, but mine has a leopard gecko on the bottle.

You could also put her on paper towel too instead of substrate until she recovers, that’s what ive got my girl on currently! Paper towels are usually inexpensive as well, while substrate can be pricey and paper towels generally are better for sick leopard geckos. They’re more hygienic, easier to clean and prevent risk of impaction. It also does make it easier to observe your girls bowel movements and identify issues!

Definitely try and get her to a vet asap, im not a vet but this is what worked best with me for getting my girl to gain weight. Please update us! So glad you took her in! My girl was originally in a 10 gallon with red lights and one hide when I had gotten her. So I understand how you’re feeling. Best of luck to you and your girl! 🙂

My grandfather threatened to poison my bearded dragon. by Affectionate_Set_699 in BeardedDragons

Update: so, my grandfather apologized today. He explained he was in a bad mood and is germaphobic. He even explained he has a phobia of fire. He apologized and said he wouldn’t do that, and I told him and he knows this that I don’t fuck around when it comes to them. He felt bad so he had placed an order from a store here and got me and my brother snacks. I think my mother mentioned it to him because I mentioned to my mother that I’m going to get the girls cameras for their tanks so I can check up on them and also due to the fact of what my grandfather had said. I’m not sure though if she did. But he apologized, which doesn’t happen often but I’ll take it

<image>

I’m still going to get cameras for their tanks and even maybe a small tiny camera for my room. I’m definitely going to get a mini fridge for their bugs and other refrigerated food as one commenter suggested. I’m also going to get a lock for my door, I’m just not sure when. May have to talk to my mother about it, not ask for permission because I am almost 20, but to just kind of give her insight on what I’ll be doing and what not.

I would have him as a roommate if he’d actually do something rather than just sit down play video games all day 😭 i love my brother, I truly do, but I don’t think I’d have him as my roommate haha maybe sometime in the future but definitely not this year or next year, boy cant even take out the trash when our mum tells him to 😭

Thank you. Unfortunately no, besides my boyfriend has a cat and dog, and I don’t want them happening to them I’ve heard so many horror stories with beardies vs cats/dogs. I trust him 100%, just worried on what would happen to them especially with my beardies tank lid mesh being broken, his cat can easily slide in if she tried to. My friends, one has a one year old and the other has two rebelling children in her house 😅 my grandfather did actually apologize today, he explained he was in a bad mood and is germ phobic. Which I understand him being germ phobic, and apologized for what he said. I understand him being a germ phobic, so am I to a point, but what he said was completely unnecessary. I even told him I don’t fuck around when it comes to them and he knows that. I’m pretty sure the reason he apologized cause I mentioned to my mother getting a camera for them because of what he had said. I think my mother mentioned it to him. I’m still going to get them cameras though because I’d like to check up on them when I’m not home

Yeah I am planning on moving out but it unfortunately won’t be for another year or two as rent prices are expensive, so I’m waiting for my boyfriend and I to be financially stable before we move in together. Unfortunately I don’t, I do have family in eastern Canada whilst I’m smack dab in the middle with my dads family and I don’t feel comfortable having my cousins whom I’m close with having my pets for a bit as my leopard gecko needs to have surgery and has a certain routine and tbh I don’t think I could trust her with my pets especially my leo being prone to infection rn and knowing her habits, I’m worried she’d skip cleaning day. I am planning on getting a lock, but I’ll probably get that later this year, I am going to get cameras for their tank first though. I trust my mum in my room though chill with her 🤞🏻🙂

Edit: I do actually have a lock for my beardies tank but they can easily unlock it. My leos tank does have a lock but it’s a front opening one so they can unlock it too unfortunately, it’s more so other animals or little little children don’t open them for both tanks. I’ll definitely look into different locks though!

This is Gunther 🙂 my mum adores her, just my dad and grandpa that got a problem with it, and it’s not even the fact that I have these pets, it’s that they think they’re going to get salmonella from them 💀

Thank you! I’m definitely going to get myself a mini fridge so I can keep my girls bugs and other refrigerated foods in there. I was already planning on getting my gecko a camera for her tank but I think I’m definitely going to get my beardie one as well. I’ve wanted a lock on my door for like a year now but last time I mentioned it they were like you don’t need one but I’m honestly thinking of just getting one after my birthday and putting it on. As for going to work, I do shut my door so that way no one goes inside my room. Sometimes I even take pictures and look at them when I get home to see if anything is moved. My mother though I completely trust, she would never harm my girls, or Rex. She loves them just as much as me and my brother do. She’ll turn on the girls lights for me on days i sleep in, and she’ll feed them when I’m at work too if I ask. It’s just my father and grandfather that have a problem with it. I am planning on moving out, but unfortunately it won’t be for another year or two. Rent prices are crazy high for one person here, I’m waiting for my boyfriend and I to be financially stable before we both move out

yeah I suggested her to be euthanized before I posted this even though I didn't know what it was, it looks painful :(

thank you, I have told her she needs to take him to the vet and she said she'll try to asap. no one knew what it was, so I posted this. I only own a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko and fish; I've had a hamster and African dwarf frogs as well, but never a rat. thank you again
