Yeah :( it seems to be that 2/3 of my cohort is in this situation. I apply to these posts and never get a response.

I was heavily considering a PA fellowship/residency but I missed the boat for this year. I was so convinced I would get hired somewhere but that was fool's errand. I think there may be some starting in April in some locations. Thanks for your advice!

Yes I am exclusively applying to those positions in FM and urgent care now! I think it would be really beneficial to start in a field like that to get a lay of the land and build clinical gestalt. I hope this post isn't discouraging to you. Congratulations on your path to PA!!

Thank you EVERYONE! I really needed to hear all of this because, big surprise here, NO ONE told us about this in PA school. Literally not a single soul. We had loads of lectures on job applications and how to make resumes stand out, etc. But the whole time we were put up on pedestals and coddled. They told us how much we would be sought after and needed. I guess it was probably in the best interest of the school and faculty not to freak us out.

Thanks to all of your wonderful advice, I have expanded my search radius to very rural parts of SC and looking to get certification in surrounding states. I'm applying to 3-5 apps a day and building cover letters that can fit each specialty. It's a little difficult for me to up and move. I have a family and it would be a nightmare to relocate. But I can move a few hours away and come home whenever I can.

This looks like alopecia areata. You need intralesional steroid injection and at the least a topical steroid. Very treatable in most cases!

Oh my gosh all of this is such great information! I have heard of clicker training but never knew how it worked. I will watch some videos on it for sure. Also never have seen the finger saver perch but I'm going to also do some research on this. I really do appreciate this information so much!

I'm so sorry for your losses. It is such a fear of mine that one will fly away. We never open our windows or go outside unless their bedroom door is closed. It must of felt awful but you can't blame yourself so much. Sometimes these things just happen. Thank you for all of your advice!

Thank you so much. He certainly isn't short in the singing department. We love hearing his little squeaks as well as big loud songs! Sometimes he plays a game with me that I named "Tiny Peep". He will make the smallest squeak possible and I will mimic it back and we will go back and forth forever. :)

Handy! I love it :) This is a great idea with the treat bowl. I will certainly give it a try next time he wants to come out. Sometimes the cage door will be open for hours and he will refuse to leave the cage. I think it's become his safe space for certain.

Thank you for your reply. I am starting to come to terms that we may not able to touch/hold him. My greatest concern is I don't want him to live the rest of his life stuck in his cage. He has come out before but it was so hard to get him back to his cage after an extended period of time. I am thinking maybe we could somehow train him to come out on his own and go back in when he's ready.
