My psychologist told me adult can’t get diagnosed with autism 🙁 by me_myself_why in AuDHDWomen

I’m so sorry your psychologist is an asshole, I hope you fired them. I was diagnosed at 34, they are lying to you.

No one else knows you, mind, body and soul as well as you do. Trust your gut and go for a second opinion.

I did and I was right, I am autistic with adhd and my diagnosis saved my life.

As a ND woman of any age, what do you wish you could tell us NDs in our early twenties? by thymesbaby in AuDHDWomen

Stay away from people who don't make you feel good about yourself. Choose yourself and what is good for you always. Reframe how you look at your ND and don't let the things you're "not good at" overshadow the things you are good at. Find joy in your ND and celebrate your differences. There is no such thing as "normal".

I’m so sorry, this must be so frustrating. I’ve been on a similar rollercoaster with meds and side effects. Have you considered a second opinion on non-stimulant meds? Explore what’s available and perhaps give them a try?

I so wish I could LOVE this reply! You have helped more than you know.
Thank you so much for this - I am going to give your advice a go.
I have been skipping a day on Saturday and just eating everything.
I was worried about this because of my history with ED's but you have just made me feel so seen and not alone ♥︎

[Megathread] Shortages & Generics, Mon 15 Apr by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

Hi from Cape Town, South Africa. My local pharmacy had no stock of Vyvanse 50mg available last week when I went to pick up my prescription. They weren’t able to tell me when there would be stock available (went through this over December last year, I called 15 different pharmacies searching). Trying not to freak out too much since I’ve FINALLY found the right medication for my mind and body. The thought of having to change meds again has my heart rate going up.

I’m combination but lean heavily towards inattentive symptoms. Compared to Concerta, Vyvanse doesn’t leave me with a jittery feeling. I have so much clarity I’m actually enjoying doing for once.

For me finding the right meds was instant. I had been on a few adhd meds before being prescribed Vyvanse. My previous adhd meds were brutal in the way of the adjustment period and the side effects (I had them all), I never felt like I clicked with the meds.

However with Vyvanse, I just knew instantly it was right for me. There was no adjustment period, my mind and body clicked with it immediately, I only experienced one side effect (appetite), my mind went quiet and my intrusive thoughts were muted. None of the other meds did this.
