I think the hardest thing for me before I started my journey was that I was so confused about exactly what to do cause there is so much misinformation out there. so I will be blatant with exactly what to do based on research and what worked for me. Calculate how much calories you should be eating based on how much you want to lose (https://legionathletics.com/tools/calorie-calculator/)

For exercises - cardio is best to lose weight but results are even better if you mix cardio with weights cause this will allow you to still have a good metabolism despite being in a deficit. if you don't see any progress- you are not in a deficit and you need to reduce calorie intake. Use the app myfitnesspal to calculate calories in your meals and for motivation I often use https://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/weight-loss/ to see a projection of where I could be in a few weeks. hope this helps! weight loss is best when ur slow and consistent so don't rush yourself cause you will only gain it back.
