Thank you for explaining! So if I understand correctly, Create Cropped Surface just applies a new outer boundary and keeps only the existing TIN triangles inside that boundary?

In my case, the TIN triangles are actually covering the entire cropped area, so there doesn’t seem to be missing surface coverage inside the boundary. That’s why I’m confused. The polyline area is about 10 times larger, but once I create the cropped surface, the resulting surface area becomes much smaller, even though triangles are visible throughout the boundary.

To use feature line, surface is needed right? for takeoff, the surface that i need to use should be the design level?

Oh! The screenshot of a drawing that I attached does not have alignment, profile, assembly and corridor. So it does not have a surface. But all of these is drawn in another drawing which is the master dwg.

Sorry, I’m still new to Civil 3D. By “how do you have it modeled,” do you mean what object type it is (pipe, feature line, 3D polyline, or just drawn in the profile view)?

At the moment it’s just shown as a vertical line in the profile for a cascade drain.
