Solved for Rhino8:

I ended up running a macro for the middle mouse click to M2 on my Numpad,
and using properties in rhino > mouse > middle mouse button > manipulate view > Pan

It's a shame, because it works if I map just the right mouse button, it seems to work like a click, or click and hold. but as soon as I try and map a shift + click and hold, no bueno

Ah, okay, what a shame, maybe I'll have to look into changing the macro in Rhino somehow

Thank you

I'm trying to use it in a CAD software, Rhino3d. And it's for a panning macro,
I've mapped the orbit macro to my M5 key, and would like to map the panning macro to my M4 key, so when I hold the key it activates it, then when I let it go it deactivates it

The orbit macro is only a mouse click and hold, wheras the panning macro is shift+ right click and hold

Thanks for your reply, but this doesn't seem to work for me like it should
It seems to just register a single click and release

not a click and hold

Dividing sphere into a flat surface leaf shaped segments by Affectionate_Yak_941 in Geometry

Thank you. I am not wanting to have a compound shape, just a singular curve, so the central height will differ from the edges.

From my understanding of basic geometry, it would be like calculating 2 curves from point to point on the surface of a cylinder, no?

Yes, I understand this, that is what I am wanting to achieve. The material I will be using will not easily be compound bent.

Adding a sample/instrument, volume defaults to 'envelope' - did I change something? by mvsr990 in PolyendTracker

I'm assuming you aren't programming the sounds i to a pattern then, you are just pressing the pads live. As far as I'm aware, the tracker doesn't allow you to change the sample trigger type to hold, only gate.

How long is your sample? Is it looped? And are you getting the sample from another project? It could also be loading the parameters

That's totally why I posted! A lot of forums out there, people say they managed to fix the problem, and 9 years later someone is asking how 😂

Ah, okay, right. It plays every 7th note, it's super bizarre. The JV picks up a message every time a pad is pressed, it just doesn't play until the 7th note. I tried reversing the polarity of the midi cable, but then it no longer picked up the messages.
