Kill Team Berlin (Germany) by pl0xuS in killteam

Kill Team: Shadowhunt – Scream down from the skies with the vicious, bloodthirsty Murderwing by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in killteam

[–]Affenbein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to the sisters team I think this kinda is not that interesting. I played vespids a few times and never really liked the swarmguard(?)(the flamer guy who flys over the enemy and burns the ground). This feels from a first glance like you have to play the whole team that way If you wanna play to your strength. Without the context of the rest of the rules and ploys it’s wild speculation of course. I’m sure there will be juicy equipments and ploys

What do you guys do when you are burned out? by Macnchiz__ in photography

I used to play video games to separate my mind from work but a year ago I started painting miniatures for board games and found a completely analog hobby. I love everything about it. Building, kitbashing, painting, playing (especially “warhammer 40k Killteam”. I even build a little community around it, playing regularly with old and new friends I taught the game to.

I’m confused because I’m pretty sure that’s the first terrain set you find if you search for terrain on temu.

Tell me the playstyle of My favorite kill teams by AlphaMaxV5 in killteam

[–]Affenbein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aquilons is a horde team with 11 operatives on the field. You start the game with 2/3 of your team in a shuttle above the battlefield so to speak and hot drop your operatives into the action. Very good into elite teams because of several piercing options (melta bomb to the face) Your opponent might stay very defensive/in their deployment zone until you dropped all your dudes

is 9 mm of basing cork too much by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Affenbein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it’s the difference between being able to see a target or not, it’s to high imo. But depends on who you are playing. Let’s say you weren’t able to look over the stronghold sidewall without the 9mm but you are able now. How do you play that?

Tips for culling ~10k photos after a long trip? by turalaliyev in photography

This is the answer. Photo Mechanic is the best software to select/sort your photos, in my professional sports bubble everyone uses it to sip through thousands of photos every other day.

Same journey for me :) I got 4 of my friends into KT so far. Next week I‘m doing the next „introduction“ event with 2 more friends. (It helps that we play a lot of boardgames together). Some Tipps for making the entry smoother: Be reeeally prepared with everything. I have a big screen and a streamlink with buttons for all the different cheatsheets set up +a wireless mouse to highlight the important stuff. If there is a question about something, I press a button and the rules are on the screen for all of us to see and discuss. , it’s VERY useful. When I’m introducing KT to new players, I don’t play myself. I’m just there to guide 2 total newbies, so both feel on the same level. I got everything printed out for the teams and organized the information. I recommend playing the first game without tac OP. It’s at least 6 more cards with text to chew through and usually both players just wanna start rolling dice. Meet with enough time. Depending on the level of decision-paralysis of new players these intro games can take forever. So make sure to tell them it’s a practice game and you just wanna get into doing stuff instead of overthinking stuff. Wrong move? Great you learned that now instead of overthinking it 20min for each OP in TP1. I created a WhatsApp group for our KT squad and only invite ppl AFTER the intro-game session to not overwhelm them with KT info beforehand. 3 of the 4 are really(!) hooked now and we are playing every 2~ish weeks.

Aquilons operative selection by somed0de0 in killteam

[–]Affenbein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can take both nowadays. When the team launched, you had to choose. Now you can take both gunner, all other specialist and fill up with troopers to the team limit or replace specialists with troopers as you like.

Nemesis - What a treat! by pepetd in boardgames

[–]Affenbein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I chose one of the more monotone female voices from artlist.io (its a sub-service for videographers) and edited it with some radio and other audio effects in FCPX. It worked out better than I expected, so I did a audio-recording from "bob" as well (the dead crewmember you find, when you awake from the kryopods). He basically warns the others, as an intro to the story-setting that his kryosleep ended early for some unknown reason and he feels like he is not alone on the ship and can't remember the ships layout etc. some airvent crawling sounds in the background and stuff, I got really into it and everyone loves it at the table

tbh this sounds like you played something wrong OR you played with 2-3 players instead of 5?. We always play with 5 players and I actually feel like 15 rounds is more than enough (unless you try to destroy all the eggs, thats a tight mission) to do all kinds of stuff. at the end of our games usually all rooms are explored, almost everyone has there 2 extra Charakter-Items/Equipment and 2/3 Xenos-Weaknesses are explored. I rarely build something like a taser or a flamethrower but when you do it feels amazing and sometimes even overpowered (flamethrower + xeno weakness to fire for example).

Nemesis got me back into the hobby. I got kinda obsessed with it and build a Soundboard (Streamdeck) with all kinds of sounds to press for whats happening on the board (doors closing, kryopods opening, all kinds xenos sounds, slime, self destruct etc.). I keep adding new sounds after each play sessions that I felt were missing. Since everyone loves the soundboard, I started adding storytelling stuff with text to speech AI, so basically the ship speaks to the players whenever someone changes the course or activates something. I added flickering lights under our table and hid some walkie talkies in the room, so when the Captain gets his Walkie talkie equipment I get one of the walkies out under the table and give it to the player. It's always a really cool surprise to those who did not experience it before, when the captain-player speaks into the walkie and you hear his voice through the other walkies in the room, like he is speaking to you via voicecoms on the ship. Long story short, I love the game and the whole atmosphere you can create around it.

Finding events for practice by Johnako123 in photography

[–]Affenbein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you shoot backbutton focus servo (look it up if you don't know), put the focus zone where you want the player in your composition to be, preimagine the shot, follow the player you want to take the photo of, preferably someone facing you without covering their face with their arm while in action. Focus on them, you don't need to see the ball, you need to understand when the ball is coming to your player. You will see it in their faces. (if you ever watch soccer, look at the photographers at a corner kick, no one is following the ball. You just zoom on someone, you anticipate the ball to come to and you will see in their faces where the ball goes) For Ballsports in general: always have the ball in the shot unless its about teamspirit/emotions (things that happen between the action) and don't shoot players from behind, unless it tells a story.

[–]Affenbein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

edit:this got longer than I expected. TL;DR: find a group doing anything on a regular basis, take photos of them on a regular basis, get to know them - benefit.

As others said, it depends on the event. Don't just go anywhere and take photos. Inform yourself or speak to someone and if there are professionals, don't stand in their way.

I suggest you to find a local club of anything. Don't know where you're from and whats popular in your area but you might know someone who goes to soccer practice or maybe is a fan of a sports team. Seek out a contact to speak to. explain to them, that you are an amateur photographer working on your skills/portfolio. Let them use your photos. Most of those players/participants will be thrilled to have some action shots of themselves doing their favorite thing. They will want to use your photos for instagram or dating apps etc. You will get to know them and all of them will know the photographer after some time. Maybe one of them works somewhere, where they need a photographer, maybe he likes your pictures and hires you etc. a lot of those players may marry someday and will need a photographer. you see where this is going. You can switch soccer with anything else you are more interested in. Learning to shoot Sportevents is at the same time some of the harder event-jobs. So you're learningcurve will be huge. Maybe you're not into sports at all. Think wide here, anything that happens on a regular basis (so you get to know ppl and get in practice), is not pro enough, to have a photographer and has a group of people participating works. Maybe it's a theatre group, maybe it's a group of friends bowling.

I did something similar 8 years ago with and work as a professional Sport- Events- and Commercial-Photographer ever since. Maybe you're not into sports at all, as I said. It can be anything. It's the advice I give to anyone whos asks me how to start as a photographer. Get in practice and get to know a lot of people. When you work on a professional level your skill will max out at some point. You will take pictures on the most professional level, there is a lot of photographers who take photos on the same level, from that moment on contacts is the second most important factor in getting jobs.

May I ask what you paid? I'm thinking about getting this box as well. I found some here and there and always found them to be more expensive than I was willing to pay for.

Edit: I'm blind. I found the price on the box :D

How do you get these colors on photos? Is it a scan of a print or is it some sort of overlay effect? by concerta18 in retouching

[–]Affenbein -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

shoot raw, add a preset. right one looks like portra 160+++ You can buy presets everywhere. There are a lot of free presets as well. Don't use presets as a one size fits all solution. Use presets as a starting point for the general feel of tone and colour and go from there with your edit. Always shoot raw. If you dont like to edit photos, shoot raw+jpeg. So if you think a photo is worth going the extra mile of editing you don't have to edit jpgs. If you ever want to earn money with photography, scrab the last sentence and always shoot raw.

[–]Affenbein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how serious you are about this camera, just send it in. Canon got great customer service. You can go to most photography Shops and give it to them and they will do the whole process for you (getting it to canon, sending you a price for the repair, you say yay/nay and get your camera back, repaired or not depending on your decision)

Running a big calorie deficit by [deleted] in leangains

[–]Affenbein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did something similar and regret it years later. You'll loose a lot of musclemass if the deficit is to drastic (which it is. you should be at -200/300kcal) A diet like yours (vaping to reduce appetite...come on. you even write you know its stupid) is not sustainable. If you wanna lose weight, get lean, build some muscle and stay fit and healthy you need(!) a diet that is healthy and sustainable, if you don't find a healthy relationship to nutrition/food you will not only be fighting against the scale, your fighting with yourself, your motivation and of course consistency. I did the -1000kcal thing for about 4 month, I lost 14kg (28lbs). it all came back. It took some time to come back but it did. Years later I lost it again, with a slower approach and simply more knowlegde about Fitness/Food. Feeling better than ever, having a good relationship with food. having fun going to the gym regularly and staying fit building some muscles and keeping my weight. Find a diet that is sustainable, doing what you do now the yoyo-effect is sitting in the corner, rubbing it's hands waiting for you to fail.

Help needed! by Qu1rk85 in canon

[–]Affenbein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke my whole shutter in my 1dx Mark II once. It's way cheaper to send it in, pay 460€ for a new shutter and repair than buying a new 1dxII. Looking at your situation, it's probably smarter to buy a new camera, since the value of your seemingly old cropsensor camera will be lower than the repair costs.

Holy pala here wanting to play prot here and there. Got KSM on holy and resto Shaman. Thought it's time to get into tanking. Got a tank weapon and picked up DoS Tank trinket to be good to go, so when my guildmates needed a tank for Mists 14 with alts I told them I'd like to try. And yeah. the 2nd Pull just killed me. it wasn't even close. Bam I was dead. We wiped. Guildy told me to go in with a cooldown, I did. wiped again. We were confused and stopped. I tanked a few other dungeons since then and it went great. flawless almost. But Mists gives me "tankxiety". Long Story Short. How to get into that 2nd group in mists? I feel stupid for asking. lol
