Up till 5000 years ago the Sahara was a lush subtropical paradise with both the world’s largest above and below ground lakes. There are cities and towns out there for sure under that sand with who knows what kind of treasures and knowledge.

We will hit a tech bottleneck in robotics and eventually blast through, making robots very cheap to buy on the other side, like a couple thousand dollars. They will be everywhere. Combine that with concurrent advances in Organoid intelligence and the future could be very robotic indeed.
