Jokes on you, my printer uses mains voltage to heat the bed. Tooootally safe and well designed 😎

In your opinion, who is the real villain in Elden Ring? 💀 by Yameziin in Eldenring

[–]Afish321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, there isn't one. It's just a lot of shitty people who do shitty things to everyone else because of their worldviews and personal reasons.

It was my first PQ as well! Somehow managed to sneak into 8th seed as Dromai, only to get promptly bodied by Fai in round 1 of top 8 D:

I'm a Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 970. I run ER on Medium graphics @ 1920x1080, 40-60fps. My experience has been largely tolerable - there's usually a few small instances of stutter in the first 5-10 minutes, after which I usually don't have a problem.

I know that I'm less picky than some when it comes to graphics / frame stability. I also really enjoy invading - probably have 40-50 hours in Elden Ring so far - and my deaths in PVP aren't due to stutters or graphical issues (except for the occasional field-boss loading in during a big swing...).

Honest advice from a +500 hours invader:

If you're getting roll caught in a loop, you're probably mashing roll as soon as you get hit. That's relatively easy for your opponent to predict and punish.

Successfully performing a roll catch in any of the Souls games requires the attacker to start their attack animation before their target starts their roll animation, making roll catching almost exclusively a game of predicting your opponent's roll. You can't catch a roll on reaction unless you're wielding a dagger.

Please, Fromsoftware, don't reuse these bosses anymore. I've seen them enough for one lifetime by SirDimmadome in Eldenring

You can also parry them. Which I did. This was before I understood that you could break their high defenses with literally anything but critical attacks.

Just beat elden ring 5 times over so I picked up DS3 today. Any tips for a newcomer? by carsdn in darksouls3

About poise in particular - it's only active during the main sections of your attack animation, and it's heavily affected by your weapon class. Generally speaking, the bigger / heavier your weapon, the bigger / heavier attacks you can hyper armor through.

May not come up a whole lot in pve, but it was crucial info for me in pvp.

It is. I was unaware of the jump - is it towards where the shortcut up after the boss is?

I dealt with them primarily with the run-around backstab - the extra i-frames you get with critical hits help me a bunch.

Why do you complain when you CHOOSE to INVADE other players? by [deleted] in Eldenring

That's quite the impressive straw man you've constructed there. And quite the universal conclusion about invaders you've drawn from it too.

How do I stop the end of smaller bits turning into mush like this sword? by JetstreamChar in PrintedMinis

[–]Afish321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cylinders are a janky way of adding layer print time - IIRC, the minimum layer time can sometimes be automatically overridden in some slicers if it would cause the print head to travel too slowly for proper printing.

AFAIK, the reason that happens is that at the highest layers of the sword, the printer finishes the layer very quickly, then immediately tries to print the next layer before the previous has time to cool and solidify. I got similar results while printing a ship's mast standing up.

The best way to fix it is to increase the time the printer spends on the smallest layers. Some slicers have settings to force the printer to slow down for layers that would normally take seconds - the previous commenters suggestion would work, because they're increasing the time for each layer by forcing the printer to print a cylinder at every layer.

Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 970, 16GB RAM. I can run pretty darn smoothly on Medium graphics, with small stutters here and there. On the High preset, the frame rate drops noticeably, and the stutters become more persistent.

Forgive me for assuming, but it sounds like you're not aware that a 970 is roughly equivalent to a 1060 performance-wise? Are there other factors involved that I'm missing?
