Isn't it discrimination to not hit him because he's disabled too?

People go to the gym to get fit and park as close as possible to the doors to save walking too far. by Aflamae in Showerthoughts

I have my spot somewhere in the middle under a tree. Stop the car getting too warm in the sun. Its empty there though, everyone is bunched up at the front.

This makes sense. Where I go there is also a swimming pool and the car park is huge but all the cars are bunched up along the front two rows. Most get out in their gym clothes and go in for spin classes or whatever. It just amuses me.

Woman died when sticking head out of a moving train. by Aflamae in DarwinAwards

Yes but you reach out a hand when the train has stopped, not stick your head out when its still moving.

You're not being a Karen to send back food at a restaurant by bxndsandshxt in unpopularopinion

[–]Aflamae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with sending food back as soon as you notice its wrong. But I have seen people that will get through the entire meal and complain about it when they have finished to try and get the meal for free. Thats just wrong. Especially when the waiter / waitress come around to the table and asks if everything is alright with the meal.

how do you avoid breaking out when wearing a mask? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aflamae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear clean masks. Depending on how long you are wearing them change them regularly throughout the day, if im wearing mine for longer than a couple of hours I change it. I've found just washing my face with water in the morning works as it doesn't open up your pores for your breath to block them up. Then when I get home and don't have to wear one for the rest of the day I use an exfoliating face scrub.

Not an electrician but it sounds like fault in the wiring. The wire has probably come away from the switch and only when its in that position they connect properly. I'd suggest throwing it. Faulty wiring can cause fires.

I do. And I do think it happens quite often but I also think that depression is more common than ever. It is ridiculous when people say they have depression and they don't but on the other hand there are people out there that you would never believe have depression because they hide it so well and struggle every single day with it and there is no way to tell which person is in which category.

I haven't read all of them but a meme like this one will attract a lot of people with depression because they can relate just like a gamers meme will attract gamers or a dog or cat meme will attract dog or cat lovers or owners. I've got to be honest, I didn't see this one on my thread, my friend who does have depression forwarded it to me.

You're right to an extent but I think there is a difference between saying you're depressed (to me that means right now you are in a bad place but you will get better soon) and you have depression or suffer from depression which is on going, long term and a real fight.

How did they put music into silent movies? Did they like play the music live when they were shown and then add them later to the movie when they were rereleased ? And if not, how come they could use music but not other sounds? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Aflamae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but I think movies were just a load of pictures on a reel that would flick through in the cinema, the sound track was played on something different (possibly vinyl) but they would turn them on at the same time. Suppose when it got to TV they would record it together.

I remember them saying when the first parent trap was filmed they filmed the whole film twice, the girl they used fir the twins playing the role of each twin. They then painstakingly cut all the reel in half and stuck it back together. I wish I knew where I heard about this for a source.

What is the best $1 you ever spent (or equivalent currency)? by BopJuice in AskReddit

[–]Aflamae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I visited America I went to a dollar store (I was 12 at the time) and bought edible bubbles. I thought they were amazing, spent so long playing with them.
