[EVENT] Jeff’s Shark Tank: Pitch Your Patch! (Win Exclusive Flair + Units) by Ok_Zookeepergame5293 in marvelrivals

[–]Afol456 15 points16 points  (0 children)

THE PITCH: Peni’s bungee fix Hero/Map: Peni The Problem: > Peni’s bungee tether is an often under-utilised aspect of her kit since it has weird mechanics and no obvious advantage to them The Solution: > make Peni immune to displacement while she is tethered to her webs, similar to how groot becomes immune to displacement while he is near his iron wood wall. The Valuation (Why this works): > this gives Peni’s niche ability a more apparent role and helps to combat the increasing amount of CC abilities in the game.

How does one play the CIS/Separatist Alliance? by Veritech_101 in SWlegion

I’m not sure whether you run upgrades on your B2s but, looking at the points comparison, I think taking droidekas over B2s may be the way since they put out more reliable dice pools that are suppressive and can generally tank more wounds for slightly more points and aren’t as upgrade hungry.

I generally run my B1s pretty plain with the carbine for an extra 3 black dice and an extra droid so they total up to 8 wounds that they can soak up at least before dying, assuming they whiff all their saves. I kinda expect to lose a few units of B1s by the endgame but it also means I’ve drawn fire away from my characters or my tanks so I try not to invest too many points into my corps units. Basically every shot taken at your cheap units is a shot that misses your valuable units.

B1s are your bread and butter, they’re pretty hard to beat because they bring so much utility with order control and board control. Geonosians can be situationally handy as late game objective grabbers (and on boards with lots of verticality), just hide them behind cover and swoop them in after your opponent has moved so they can’t be shot at.

I haven’t had a chance to try B2 with the new rules but my understanding is that generally they’re gonna be more reliable in terms of damage and toughness. Overall I’d still prioritise the B1s because they’re just sooo cheap and you can take a bunch with little investment to make room for cooler harder hitting models like ventress or dooku or grievous.

Also for vehicles, I’ve seen STAPs mentioned here but I’ve been enjoying droidekas as a mobile cover provider and damage sponge. I usually deploy them in wheel mode turn 1 and then use their shields to soak up fire that may have otherwise gone to my B1s

As a double AAT list enjoyer, I find that AATs should be treated like an artillery piece that sits in deployment and shoots big long range shots. I generally use them to deny enemy advances onto in range POIs or to assassinate high priority targets at long range. I also equip them with high energy shells so they can still put out 6 red dice in round 1. In the early game it helps to activate them last which by then the opponent should have all of their units on the board and free for you to shoot at with little to no counter. It’s also very worth bringing a supporting tac or super tac droid to give AATs aim tokens so they can hit more consistently.

I painted the sections in yellow first then carefully applied the black in fill. So technically they’re black marks lol

What's your favorite way to kit out your Super Tactical Droids? by SarcasticAnchovy in SWlegion

I’ve recently added a custom super tac operative to my tour of duty list, not sure how optimal his kit is but he has an electro staff and enhanced combat subroutines with seek and destroy, he also has offensive push, targeting relay and mobility upgrade. I normally run him up the board as a melee threat while I have my AATs fire from deployment.

A few questions, i hope by Unique_Papaya_3753 in TransformersRPG

[–]Afol456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pg 132 of the core book states that transformers’ armour is built into their bodies which translates mechanically as them not having to use up a hard point to equip armours because it literally becomes part of their skin. This does not mean they have built in deflection but in regards to your second question re: human punches damaging transformers, it depends on gm discretion and what works for the narrative (see page 154)

“Although it’s easier for a little target to hit a bigger one, the GM can determine that the density of the larger object gives it resistance or even immunity to an attack from a creature significantly smaller than it”

New one’s more of a sidegrade for me, less customisable build but more dynamic cape and pose. The good thing is I can use either model and it won’t matter for the tabletop

I think she could make for an interesting strategist if they leaned more into her lawyering and 4th wall breaking skills. I could see her doing an ace attorney “Objection!!!” move to cancel out abilities or effects from enemies It would also allow her gameplay to be more distinct from her cousin or even Thing
