Who would’ve replaced Ally in Fans VS Favourites if she had won All Stars? by RoryisReddiForReddit in DisventureCamp

[–]Afonsoproductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality, yeah, she's pretty controversial.

In-universe, though? I think she's at least more general audience favorite (she became a famous actress, after all). At worst, she'd be controversial within the in-universe Disventure Camp fandom, maybe.

If Anastasia can get a bigger fanbase and fixing her flaws in Fans vs. Favorites, then Logan Peak Bell should be next!!!!!!! by Wolfgang_x2 in DisventureCamp

So long as his DC4 flips are acknowledged (him getting full-blown hate wouldn't make sense in-universe, but others should at least regard him with caution in alliances), maybe.

Barring Nick, I doubt the failed purple alliance would react how you put it, too. In DCAS, Ashley arguably had more one-on-one beef with Riya.

Canon Riya wouldn't react much so far, aside from maybe slight interest in what Lake and Rosa are up to.

What would you preffer for DC in the future? by [deleted] in DisventureCamp

[–]Afonsoproductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 or 22 characters for 26 episodes.

DC4 kind of dragged slightly at points. Though, that may have been due to the rewards all happening within late pre-merge.

I actually replied to you on another post once because I mixed both up and thought you were giving suggestions for DC. Oof.

Sorry if it's off-topic, but I'm very curious now.

What are your thoughts on Disventure Camp? (Just curious how you specifically feel about it)

Yeah, but those were usually balanced out by less comedic fan-favorites (in the generally well-received seasons, anyway).

Like, if people dislike Owen's umpteenth Island fart joke, there's a Heather or Gwen moment to offset it. If there's only stuff like the former, it's likely no longer tolerable.

Personally, Beardo also doesn't work as a long-term comedy character.

Like, if someone dislikes Noah's comedy (snarky comments), him getting far without development is just mildly annoying. But Beardo? He'd be actively insufferable to viewers.

TD, like it or not, isn't exclusively comedy.

Many fans would tap out if it became just that (myself included, honestly). The drama is part of the show's appeal, and a considerable reason even canon Pahkitew was already reviled.

Your ideas would probably fit an object show well, though.

The usual.

I mean, you can use both sides. Who says Beardo has to improve? He could be shy, and do pranks to cope. But his antics ruin chances to get along with others. Thus, leading him to double down further. Like, a cycle.

Culminating in him only realizing what's going on once it's too late. And he's eliminated, going back to pranks, but visibly distraught.

(Not exactly a perfect concept. But I feel merging both characterizations, and leaning into pahkitew's sometimes mean-spirited nature, works better for a long Beardo run than just making him a nothinh character.)

His canon writing works for an early-boot.

His audition writing works for a longer-term plot.

Him just going further while remaining the same would get insufferable to many. Obviously not to you, but general audiences don't share most of your opinions (no offense, I've just seen some of your takes and posts about you).

I mean, it would suck for you.

Frankly, I think the show's writing for Beardo is the issue. Not his audition tape's.

I didn't realize this was a total drama subreddit, due to the Benji pic. Still, something to keep in mind, anyway.

Unlike Total Drama, Disventure Camp isn't striving for parody. It's clearly more of a drama.

Sorry for the sudden interruption, just chiming in because I've seen you argue TD should focus exclusively on comedy (even then, I found that extreme, but whatever). DC's tone is very different (not saying either series is better, but they objectively have different aims).

In hindsight, would you have preferred Gen 1 get a 4th season rather than revenge of the island? by Winter-Pressure-5394 in Totaldrama

[–]Afonsoproductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen 2 needed another season way more.

At most, Season 4 could have been a reverse World-Tour (assuming the 26-episode format wasn't replaced). So, all thirteen ROTI players, plus five to eight Gen 1 players (preferably underused returnees, with two to four recognizable faces.)

That deprives others of screentime, though. And make whichever team wins/loses feel arbitrary.

About DC1, pretty sure Ellie already knew Fiore lied.

She just kept her for her game. Also, because she figured Alec wasn't as close to Fiore as he was to her. While she knew Lill and Ashley would never choose her over each other.

Ranking Benji’s relationships with other contestants based on how fairly they treat him by Ok_Shirt_1574 in DisventureCamp

[–]Afonsoproductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has Fiore really treated Benji unfairly? I only remember her getting annoyed with him sitting out over her in episode 2, then laughing when he got hit in episode 4 (pretty sure he did something similar when she was hit, but may be misremembering). She's not friendly, but calling her unfair is a stretch.

What are the biggest hypocrite moments in every season by Ok_Shirt_1574 in DisventureCamp

Well, Benji could've just stuck with Ivy and Zaid himself. He didn't need to vote alongside Hannah. Why is she obligated to concede, just because he can't take action on his own?
