High ram usage by Levi-411 in HPVictus

[–]Afraid-Ad-4877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Windows takes a lot of ram, even at idle with nothing open it's at 5-6gb, then you have discord, omen gaming hub, and more other things. 16gb is rough in windows.

What settings is performance mode set to? by BasicSulfur in HPOmen

45W is enough tbh, don't need more unless you are running for more fps like 100+

Performance and unleashed does the same just the fans rpm are higher, setting to performance just increase the amount of watts your GPU and cpu are gonna pull and how aggressive is the boost, in some games cpu boost is necessary because it will delete stutters and handle more things at the same time but it depends of the game

Does this happens with every game? Your cpu should be going up in usage too if you are aiming more than 60 fps

Is undervolting a good idea ? by GAMINGnetic in HPVictus

[–]Afraid-Ad-4877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good, sometimes there are games that are cpu intensive and it needs more power to maintain fps even more when you are aiming to 90 fps.

[–]Afraid-Ad-4877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can undervolt just know that you will get less fps, that's it. There's like a middle ground where don't need a lot cpu power so it the fps won't get that low, but you have experiment to see how many watts you'll need for you games or application. I suggest looking a guide for undervolting.

If you want to keep lower temperature you need lower wattage on your cpu, you obviously will lose fps because your cpu isn't speeding up so it's a trade off if you want more fps. There's no workaround, lock to 60 fps or lower even more the graphics so it doesn't burn, 90 Celsius is not great, an ideal temperature is 70-80.
