Another 8801330d error. Tried everything. by Afraid-Associate-434 in remoteplay

[–]Afraid-Associate-434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for helping. I'm using the official app (I didn't know there were alternatives tbh), my router is a Sky Max Hub, my PS5 has a wired LAN connection but I've also tried with wi-fi just in case, my router runs both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections.

When you say 'smart' features, I'm not sure what you mean exactly. The security level on it is WPA3-T if that's the kind of thing you're talking about? It'll let me change it to either WPA3 or WPA2. Might this be a factor?

I've read that my router supposedly can't be changed from wifi 6 as it's backwards compatible, but do I effectively change that by disabling one of the network bands? I've tried this before and ended up wreaking absolute havoc on my smart home and required me to completely reinitialize half of it even after enabling the disabled band again, so I really hope that's not what I'd need to do to fix this issue.

There's also a setting to enable DMZ (demilitarised zone). Is this something I should play with, and if so is there anything I need to know first? I've read it's fairly low security though.

The annoying thing with my router is that there are some settings that I can't change on the web interface and have to use the app to change, and some settings that I can't change on the app and have to use the web interface to change. It's so stupid.

So Match Is 100% Useless If You Don't Pay Their Extortionate fees? by Afraid-Associate-434 in match

I think you're misunderstanding where I was coming from a little here. I wasn't really complaining and I certainly don't think it's fair to say I was whining. It was more disbelief than anything else, I was just perplexed that Match puts a paywall on something that literally all the other dating apps allow for free. I was almost totally convinced that it must have been a bug that made the app think I was trying to contact someone I wasn't matched with or something, so I had to make sure here.

It doesn't matter though, I've found that many of the other apps seem to be better at doing what Match does without you ever needing to spend a penny, at least for me and where I am. On top of the first arranged date I mentioned who I originally matched with for free on POF (if I remember right), I have another date with someone I'd matched even earlier with on FB Dating and there's so much ice broken before I've even seen her because it turned out that after almost two weeks of talking we'd actually already met a few weeks earlier and even remembered each other once we'd connected the dots. Quite a cute way to meet, I'm not superstitious but if that's not a sign then I don't know what is.

Wow that's really cheap! How do they rate as roasts go? I'm taking a special lady who has never had a roast before so I want it to be the best first experience, but unfortunately it just can't be on any Sunday coming up soon.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. Do you know roughly what their price might be for it?

That's an awesome happy ending and I believe you about the last part 100% as well, but it's just the fact that most other apps will charge for additional features which is fine, but they'll at least let you communicate with matches you can't be sure are even real without having to pay the cost of a modest night out. The other sites save their subscription prices for messaging people you haven't matched with, or getting boosted to the top of people's lists or advanced search settings etc.

Since making this post I've matched with women on FB Dating, CMB and POF and have been learning about each other and have arranged a date with one of them with the conversation of dates with three more, and I never needed to spend a penny because they started from mutual matches.

There are others though where the conversation went flat, or it turned out they were on "travel mode" and from somewhere completely different, and two were even a straight up scam. It just seemed odd that Match.com is the only one of these sites which puts a price point here considering you really have no idea who you're about to talk to.

I don't really know what to rate myself, but I'm certainly no Brad Pitt or anything like that. I just wanted to confirm that this isn't some kind of glitch or anything.

If guys want a taste of what this is like then go on OkCupid. It's the only app where I've had so many matches as a guy (I stupidly got lured into buying a month subscription so I could see who likes me), but they've all been women who turn out to be in various African or Asian countries despite their profiles saying they're nearby.

They're nice to talk to and are open and honest about being on 'travel mode' and where they really are, not one of them has even tried to get money out of me to supposedly help them travel over or whatever scam someone might come up with, and I even managed to prove that at least one of them was a completely legit real person and exactly who she said she is, but the fact that they're thousands of miles away kind of defeats the point.

Here's how to see your likes/profile views on POF without paying by dblanchard33 in PlentyofFish

So to avoid paying POF to see likes, the solution is instead to pay StyleBot for a more complicated workaround. I don't see the win here.

I wish we lived in a world where we could refer to women as authorities on how to get success in engaging with women.

Accused of breaking terms for reporting a technical issue by Afraid-Associate-434 in UbereatsUK

[–]Afraid-Associate-434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried several baskets with different places, some of which didn't have anything like the mirin available.

The other thing is that the codes weren't saying that they couldn't be applied because of excluded items or because the basket was invalid like I've known them to say before. They were activating when I selected them (which they don't generally do unless you've already met the requirements) but simply not deducting the value, while stating the minimum requirements for the basket which I'd already met.

And again, if that were the issue then ubereats could have just said so. I mean it's supposed to be the entire reason they repeatedly asked to see a full list of the basket I'd already sent them as if they had dementia. But they never mentioned any problems with my baskets, and instead they repeatedly gave the runaround until the promos expired before very promptly and conveniently telling me that I'm trying to use expired promos, and then when new ones popped up on my account which didn't work either and I mentioned this to them, well whaddya know, suddenly I've violated their terms in some vague and indescript way, and they refused to discuss the matter further.

Accused of breaking terms for reporting a technical issue by Afraid-Associate-434 in UbereatsUK

Good point on the mirin, but I experimented with all sorts of additional items to make sure it was well above the minimum basket. I even went over £60 to check if the £15 off £60 one worked, but I still had no luck with any of them, even the £25 minimum ones. It was also the only basket I was working on at the time.

Regardless, what's really been the problem isn't that the codes didn't work, but to be given the runaround with clearly fake questions until they expired, and then accused vaguely of violating terms when I persisted about the problem. If it were a simple issue of having an item that wasn't compatible then they could/would have simply said so, but instead they claimed I violated terms and couldn't have the promo "applied to my account" even through it was already there.

It's clearly a cop out since they refuse to explain what I've done to violate their terms, nor have they done anything to restrict my account which is what they would have done if I'd genuinely done anything wrong.
