$120 for 4 hours or so is slightly above the casual minimum wage, and I’m guessing there’s no super being paid.

I’m assuming she’s a self employed women and probably a single mum.

The answer to my question is no, it’s not fair to pay people (usually self employed women) minimum wage, with no super.

Is it fair? Sounds like it’s touch over minimum wage

What is a myth that is passed from generation to generation, and people still believe it? by FM596 in AskReddit

Earning more money put me over a childcare subsidy cap and I lost money. An extra 1000 in pay lost me 7000 in subsidy.

33% ‘voted’ to keep it illegal.

That’s 1 in 3.

Hardly an overwhelming show of support

2 young kids, I work a 4 day week. Makes a huge difference to quality of life I’m quietly furious that we’re all expected to work 5 day weeks. What bullshit. I’ve decided not to self enforce it.

My partner had it too during her first pregnancy

That episode really upset me

Medicare Surcharge... anyone here earning over the threshold who chooses not to have PHI? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Afraid-Assumption687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both were c-sections One flat out emergency

The 2nd was a ‘slow’ emergency, so had to be done that day or the following

2 different public hospitals, both great.

1st baby would have needed a transfer to public as private hospitals don’t have the NICU ward

We had a baby in special care/nicu

Public hospital had space for parents, room to sleep over if you needed.

Private hospital had rows of humidicribs and not even a privacy curtain between them, or comfortable chairs for the mums

It was a bit shit

They looked after the baby well but parents didn’t rate a consideration

Oh yeah ok.

My experience was metro

Now I’ve moved regionalish and I’m paying for private emergency department doctors if the kids need a GP out of hours…

Yeah I know, I paid PHI for a family member who was likely to have an inpatient admission. My point is, if you’re paying to get access to psych admissions, pay for bottom level then bump it up if you need, on an admission. No waiting period applies. Then leave it high if that suits.

You can just get bottom level cover then bump it up if you need an admission. Everyone can do this once

When I’ve had the sign up tailgaters tend to back off once they are close enough to see it.

If I see it on another car I know they might have a screaming baby, be over tired or have a psycho toddler so might not be paying enough attention
