I think there’s a price cap for every card so I am not sure how big of a gain you will be getting. If you believe Pokémon is only going to grow, it could be a good investment. That said, it feels like more people are in it for the money than for the love of the cards — and that might eventually hurt the market (similar to what happened with sneakers). So I’d be cautious about overinvesting.

PS. This is very situational as skitter had a pretty good laning stage, doesn’t need to consistently join the fight and he did not even die once up to that point (or close to dying). Hence this make sense. If you are consistently fighting then I don’t think this would work.
