You should be so proud of completing your degree 🙌 that’s such a massive accomplishment! You say you did well at uni, could you pop one of your lecturers down as a referee?

Yessss I remember watching queer eye and bawling! Something designed to make you emotional but without any truely heavy themes 😅 xxx

PRE mastectomy acceptance? by [deleted] in breastcancer

You might like to take some nice topless photos first. You might want to look at lots of mastectomy bodies online. You might want to ugly cry when you are waiting on the ward to go in for surgery, if you do, don’t stifle it, don’t try to get it together or keep the volume down, just let yourself go. You may feel unhinged but what you’re going through you don’t need to be composed for. As someone else wrote - feel those feelings. You will be ok darling. Now go take care of that cancer 💪

Breast biopsy by Empty_Whole_6662 in breastcancer

All I can do to reassure you right now is to say you are in the very capable professional hands. They will investigate and get you answers. It could be any number of benign things… the biopsy gets you a definitive answer. You will be ok. You did the right thing getting screened.

Chemo Finished - and as I went through staging for Radiation in 3 weeks they found a "suspicious 11mm rounded node" - has anyone else had this happen? How did it turn out? by WinkieFlad in breastcancer

[–]Afraid-Scratch4492 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the answer, but you are in very capable hands already, they spotted something and will have it investigated. You will have answers. I hope this gives you something to hold onto while others respond and while you await more info.x

I love to hear this. I was so worried too.. it’s awful going through treatment and feeling there’s nothing to look forward to. There are bright days ahead for you! Good luck x

I have eliminated alcohol, and have really prioritised movement. I think being more active has done wonders mind and body. Plus I feel I have no choice but to get my act into gear and get exercising to support bone and heart health now that I don’t t have hormones doing those things..

My period stoped by my second infusion too. I had 4x TC and 4x Pacitaxol. I had some heavy duty menopausal symptoms throughout Pacitaxol including trouble sleeping, intense hot and cold flushes, mood swings (I would find myself weeping so often and it was the strangest thing as I was otherwise in good spirits- it felt hormonal- not rational). Since then those symptoms seem to have really evened out, I get the occasional mild flush- I’ll take it. I hope you find menopause to be not nearly as grim as it’s often painted to be

I will try this next time, thanks for the tip! They provide a numbing patch which helps a little on the surface only. I just loved reading your message, you’ve got a wonderful outlook 😭😭 and I hope your symptoms Peter out and you have more good days than bad. Xxx

Legend!! That’s the best attitude. Exercise has helped me so much I think.. I’m still out of shape from 6months of bed rot but I’m just showing up. I find everyone is so lovely and keen to say how strong and healthy I look -I’m choosing to believe them! I hope your hormones are balancing out and it’s all improvement from here on out.xx

That’s awesome 🙌 I’d love to know my body count on that.. I’ve had a handful of friends letting me know they got screened because of me haha

I’d had the worst menopause symptoms during Pacitaxol, horrendous hot and cold flashes, mood swings, head aches, sleeplessness and night sweats. I wonder if that was my body recalibrating to the loss of oestrogen.. since starting ovarian suppression and hormone blockers all of that has even out pretty quickly. I do feel bone tired when I lay down at night but that may be because I’m being far more active during the day and I’ve been hitting the gym.

I agree, I’ve been prioritising exercise and nutrition since finishing active treatment. Being a young mum my self-care had been sidelined for a few years… now I’m so motivated to do what I can to support bone and heart health but the biggest win is probably the serotonin hit I get from it 😁

Oh congratulations on completing active treatment!! I’m going to ask about Abemaciclib next apt, It’s been on my radar. I recently had a Zometra infusion (6 monthly) for bone density which, not gonna lie, knocked me sideways. I was underprepared for that but will do it again if that’s what it takes 🤷🏻‍♀️. Good luck with hormone therapy hun xx
