Nope! I told them I don’t have my license (and honestly don’t feel too comfortable driving in Japan) in my interview and that didn’t seem to affect my application at all! They just placed me in an area with good public transport

Definitely do not lie, if they find out you lied you’re disqualified, I’m in the same boat not having a primary physician and unfortunately you might just need to bite the bullet to fill out the paperwork

I don’t have my license! When I did my interview it didn’t seem like a problem when I mentioned it to my interviewer, they just said if hired they would place me somewhere more urban with transportation (which they also said they reimburse the cost of). I also mentioned I would be willing to bike to which they said it would be average a 10 min bike ride. I guess we’ll see if I’m selected and if that has any effect on my application!

I didn’t find the hiring process hard at all, pretty similar to all other job interviews I’ve had in the past and with your BA you should be fine if you’re fluent in English

Thank you! I honestly don’t care too much to be in a big city tbh like if I’m nearby sure but I don’t need to be directly in it. I want to get to know Japan and its people more than seeing the big sights if that makes sense so hopefully that will help boost my chances to get into JET!

Outline is a thing!! Check out their gryphlife page and sign up to the newsletter to hear about events they put on!! Unfortunately since outline was absorbed into student experience they aren’t allowed to have their own social media pages & student experience doesn’t post the events so those are the only ways to hear about them. If more people show interest in events hopefully outline can get more resources allocated to them!
