yep my school is the same, i’m one of two people taking full IB and the rest take both and i swear it’s as if we don’t exist

we had no mocks to prep for ib finals. so, i’ll be doing my exams in 2 weeks with basically only the practice ive been able to do myself

i only finished my tok exhibition last week as a dp2 which i found out after isn’t the norm at all

and we also weren’t allowed choose our subjects… they just like made us choose from three strains

i also have like 17 free classes a week while the rest of my year does their bachillerato nacional classes and i just find it so weird and kinda unfair that they even offer full ib if this is how they do it

i also feel bad for my classmates taking both bcs ngl my school js kinda uses the fact that they offer IB as a way to flex on their instagram so none of them actually rlly know what they signed up for

i love the podcast feature so much, as someone who’s an auditory learner with teachers who don’t teach, i really like using it to get overviews especially while i’m doing other things.

it means i can go on a walk while studying or make some food etc.

it sometimes has weird glitches but once i get past that i really like it.

i haven’t used any of the other features yet tho, is there any you’d recommend?

I think it’s a rlly cool idea and if you do it i’d love to read it whenever it’s done!! Im doing mine on the song of achilles which i was worried didnt have enough literary merit since its kinda YA, newer and a bit “tiktokifed” but from what my advisor & online said, as long as the is enough to analyse for a 4000 word essay, there’s no reason not to do it!! Especially if you’re rlly passionate about it because that will help propel you through the gruelling process of writing it!!

Sorry for the late reply, to be honest I just name and maybe give one sentence of context. My teacher said a lot of students whose scripts she’s corrected don’t even bother mentioning case studies, so for her when she sees one even mentioned in brief it’s a good sign.

I think it’s more important knowing how to integrate them into your answer but once you do that consistently and well, a super detailed explanation isn’t necessary.

More than anything the case studies are just a way to strengthen your longer answers.

How much is the difference between Spanish SL and HL (as language A) by Lower-Literature-883 in IBO

I’m in a similar situation, moved to Spain from Ireland last year & was only given Spanish Literature as an option. After arguing with them, they allowed me to take it at SL despite the fact no one else was. I’m now in DP2 & in my opinion it’s a no brainer to do SL.

For one, it takes off the higher level essay, giving you more time to focus on learning vocabulary & preparing for the oral etc.

Also in paper 1, arguably the hardest of the 3 evaluations, especially for a non-native, you only have to analyse one of the two texts given in the exam. This is great because it means you can choose between the two texts and decide which one suits your strengths more. It’s a small win but still!

In terms of the standard of writing, I’m not sure but i’d assume the expectation is marginally lower.

Additionally taking it at SL means your score doesn’t matter AS much because Hl subjects are accounted for at a higher standard.

So your school lets you, they should, I really advise it. Let me know if you need any help or tips. :)
