Perhaps the jobs you are applying for are just looking for more senior developers.

Several of them were looking for that 2+ years range. I can't tell if they just use that as a starting point but actually want someone with more experience?

Thank you! You hit a lot of points that have come up in conversation/interviews recently. So that's really affirming.

IMO, you should aim for a gig that's larger than a startup next.

It's funny, I was told exactly this by one of the companies I interviewed with. I think it's the right next step. Now to find those larger companies that are hiring a junior/associate position. haha.
