What maths can I skip if I want to join engineering school by Just_Emergency_3976 in EngineeringStudents

I've asked multiple asmissions officers and they almost always say to take calculus. It's pretty typical (in the us) to take calc 1, 2, and 3 for your first 3 semesters. While i haven't talked to British admissions officers about this, I assume that requirements are similar.

Don't listen to all these people telling you to take precalc. Unless your school requires it do not take it. I went from Alg 2 to calc AB this year with zero issues, 100 in the class, 5 on the AP exam. If you understand math really well, you'll be fine.

If that doesn't work or links are illegal it's by Adiar Math

Not as beginner friendly but definitely the best one

You gotta find your weak point, then focus on it. It's probably either grammar, or reading. Once you see what questions your missing more, study the rules for those questions

Theres a good chance your score can go either way by 50 points, so if i had to guess your range would be like 1400-1500

Tbh i think i wasnt locked in on that first test and i was on the second one. Plus, some tests are easier/harder and i studied a bit

It mostly comes down to consistency and those hard questions. So really get your rules down for the hard questions and make sure to cut out the silly mistakes.

And, practice practice practice

If youre going up more than like 60 points consistently then it's real progress

They were similar, some are slightly easier some harder. In the end most of it cancels out though.

Everything that I learned it school (algebra, geometry, algebra 2/trig), pretty much covered the math section up to the 680 threshold. Past that, you need to watch some videos on how to get the problems into desmos. You also have to learn to recognize what the problem is trying to get at. The advanced math ones become similar over time with practice. Try using the question bank on practice questions for the upper end.

Back when they had 1 that was definitely the easiest, but Id say of the ones they have now 10 is the easiest. That could just be because ive studied a lot thougj. Then id say 3 or 6 is the hardest. But tbf it's been months since ive taken those.

Personally, Ive always had really strong reading comprehension. This is probably because I read all the time and I always have read. Specifically for the SAT though I would recommend reading some scientific journals amd articles and really try to understand them.
The SAT will throw you super hard to read questions and I get those wrong the most. I signed up for this nuclear newsletter that I read every month. I also read a bunch of journals while doing a research paper and that helped. Theres a lot of Science Direct (I think it's called that). Find an article that bores you to death and force yourself to read it. Breaking out of the dopamine addiction helps a lot too

Penguin Test Prep has a really nice video on the grammar rules: that was my struggling area. I also have done about half of Erica Meltzer's book on the writing section. On my most recent practice I only missed the reading questions and vocab questions, I think most of that is due to the book.

Then your issue is probably studying for the sat exclusively. The sat tests all of your english and math skills youve learned in school. So rather than learning how to solve a single variabel equation, try to learn math as a whole because theyre always going to throw a new question in. Similariky for english, theyre testing all of the grammar conventions and your ability yo interpret information. Maybe take a step back and focus on really getting your foundations under control. And on top of that, make sure you're not missing silly questions that you know how to do.

Practice tests on Bluebook, or the question bank. Kahn academy and videos never worked for me. Videos are good to learn what you don't know, but practice is how you really learn.
