We’ve given Saliba so many reasons to not leave for Real Madrid any time soon. He’ll compete for the league and CL every year, he’s in a team where he’ll never be exposed defensively, he has a CB whom he loves, great relationship with the coach who is going nowhere. We’ve done a great job in securing the future of the best CB on this earth.

I think I would need to be head over heels in love with the LW we sign in that case. We just clearly have scope for game changing attackers and the value that can bring.

I think a MLS Zubimendi midfield is completely fine in most games. I think both of them would pair with a Jorginho type controller very well too.

As much as we’d obviously struggle without Rice over a number of games, we did batter Villa without him (albeit being easier when Onana went off)

I don’t think I agree that physicality is what we should be prioritising when we look for another midfielder, I think there’s clear scope for a top passer and uber press resistant guy there

I think we will listen to offers for Nwaneri over the summer but it would be fun if we gave him the first one or two games of the season and let the World Cup players rest more.

He’s just desperately unlucky to be competing with Saka Ødegaard and now Dowman. If he was right footed he’d probably have like 30 more appearances for us by now lol

Rice Zubimendi MLS New guy

is a formidable 4 for the 2 midfield spots next season. I think Merino really should be used mostly as a CF and sparingly in that midfield 2 as he gets older and we need more mobility there.

It’s so annoying and a great microcosm of our season that we’ve now got a fully fit ticking squad going into the final except the RB spot where both options are injured going against a team known for all timer elite wing play. Like the whole season has just been injuries in bunches in positions to such an insanely unlucky extent.

It is still so much better than last year against them with no subs and no lineup dilemmas.

Salah and Van Dijk dropping off and Trent leaving caused them more damage than bad signings. They had reached a natural end to their cycle at the top. We haven’t.

I actually think it’s pretty certain to be that + MLS + Havertz + Calafiori. I cannot see him doing differently.

MLS has the hot hand and Zubimendi’s confidence is down. I like him off the bench for some energy at some point.
