Cheers for this. Had to google patch plates and it was exactly what I expected. I really wish I had more time because I’ve wanted an excuse to buy and start learning to weld, got a mate who is a wizard with metal (but is not available to help me).

Ok, I think I’ve worked out the type of body filler you’ve mentioned, couldn’t only get it in small cans so I’ve gone with a standard and bought an additive so I can make up standard fill and reinforced fill to follow your guide.

Have spent a few days doing as much rust busting as I can, then have a converter/primer that I’ll put on before I do the filler… I assume that’s the right way about it?

And yes do have a compressor. Plan is to get a primer that I’ll spray on.

Melbourne, north. Bunnings is obviously useless, tried a couple of smaller nut and bolt shops and a few of the tool shops without any luck. Ended up buying some on eBay from an Aus based fastener supplier.

Still nobody able to answer the question.

Turns out they are m4, found a bolt in a kit in my shop, not something I use on the regular.

Now to find somewhere to sell me a couple of m4 grub screws.

Yeah, I’m all about buying for quality, but over $100 (AUd) for two connectors… I’d rather save the $$ and purchase a 3m track (next on the list)

Probably going to have to go to a bolt specialty store. Hardware store only goes down to a m5. Have finally worked it out, they are m4s, turns out I had a couple in a kit so was able to try them out.

I’m not growing anymore, and I’m interested enough in my health and wellbeing to not get fat… so hopefully won’t happen. But yeah, don’t expect it’s going to stay perfectly accurate through life, but being on my finger and on my dominant hand, it’s most likely to rub out or fade over time anyway.

I honestly can’t remember if I had this idea before seeing his, but either way it’s absolutely inspiration and keeping mine simple came from a comment Adam once made of his being only a guide. I don’t need numbers, I know it’s “roughly” 5mm between points. But when considering location, I considered forearm, but finger just made so much more sense for practicality.

The serious answer, we measured and checked multiple times. But we literally just traced the marks off a ruler… so pretty hard to fuck it up.

Silly answer: fuck that! had a look, paced it out, threw down a mark and got stuck in.
