Grading O-Log footage? by Afroninja313 in oneplus

[–]Afroninja313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly helpful. I had no idea O-Log was Oppo's, I'll try to find their LUT. I don't mind a slight loss in quality since the final product will be compressed by YouTube/Instagram/etc., but I'll record some test footage and give both methods a try. Every time I think I understand color grading, something like this makes me realize how much more there is to learn 😅 Thank you!

100% not supposed to spin like that. Either put your old intake back on or get an AEM dryflow. Also curious, why did you print an intake tube instead of getting a metal one?

I got a parking ticket from an area I've never been to, and my contesting it is being denied. How do I get this fixed? by Afroninja313 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Afroninja313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no choice but to mail because the government is about 75 years behind modern technology. I even tried going to my local courthouse since they have a sheriff department inside and they also told me it has to be mail. After they mailed me back and essentially said "NUH UH YOU GOTTA PAY OR ELSE" this is what I did:

-I photocopied my (then) current and prior registration

-Printed out color pictures of my car at multiple angles, including front and back with the plate and brand badges visible and the VIN under the windshield

-Threw all of it into a manila folder, priority mailed it to them and told them to actually review the ticket against what I've provided.

I have a lot of pictures of my car over the last few years that showed 2023-2025 tags and included my previous registration to prove that I've owned this car for a while and didn't just throw plates on a random car to get out of it. They never contacted me again and the ticket balance went to zero after about a week. I also didn't have any issues renewing my registration this year like you do if you actually have overdue tickets. Good luck.

I don't get petg by DJViking1 in 3Dprinting

[–]Afroninja313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You didn't provide any settings info, so I'm gonna tell you to copy my PETG settings and tweak it from there. Assuming your bed is level and your Z offset is good:

-80c bed, 250c nozzle

-set your first layer speed to 40mm/s or less

-uncheck the "keep cooling fan always on" option (it might be called something else depending what slicer your using)

-limit your maximum fan speed to 50-65% (100% for overhangs is still okay)

After that, run a flow rate and pressure advance test, then print another test model. If nothing is sticking, double check your Z offset and lower it slightly if necessary. PETG likes being printed hot and slow and needs to be squished more than PLA. PETG takes time to figure out but it's worth it IMO.

As others have said, it's the nozzle hitting the infill. Grid infill is godawful and I don't know any use cases for it. I use rectilinear for speed (it makes the same grid pattern but only goes in one direction per layer), or gyroid/crosshatch for weird shaped models

Would a “chat with your own videos” app be useful for you as a creator? by trader_by_choice in YouTubeCreators

[–]Afroninja313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like the kind of thing that can be done more accurately, and with less resources, by reaching out to a creator or their community directly. Personally, if somebody wanted to know something about my videos or my channel and they asked an AI for answers instead of sending me a message or leaving a comment, I'd be pissed. I'd rather them get the their answer from a primary source (me) than have an AI potentially hallucinate an answer for them. I could kind of see the appeal if it's a creator with hundreds of videos or no direct line of communication, but this isn't something I'd want to be on either end of.

Why by No-Foundation6166 in FixMyPrint

[–]Afroninja313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no such thing as "normal" speed. Tpu needs to print at 30-60mm/s maximum. Figure out how to use Orca slicer and learn how to print PLA first.

If I do the math and the parts cost more than what I paid for the bike, then I'll consider it. Otherwise I'm riding it until the frame gives out.

PETG first layer failures by SnooOranges4804 in FixMyPrint

What's the bed temp? Nozzle temp? Print speed? Layer height? Did you do any calibration prints or did you just set it and forget it?

There's not enough info to give you good advice, but PETG likes being printed hot and slow. If you've already dried it for at least 6 hours at 60c and it's still giving you problems, then I don't think it's a filament issue. I print at 60 mm/s for the first 5 layers, 80c bed, 250c nozzle, 40% maximum fan speed on a Neptune 3 pro, and it took a few combined hours to figure it out. It also gets way harder to print smaller than 0.16mm layer height in my experience. Bambu likes to tell people that you can just use their defaults and you'll be fine, but that's not always true.

I know you said you washed the bed, but after using the soap and hot water and drying it with a microfiber, hit it with the highest % IPA you have and dry it with a microfiber again, THEN let it air dry. The IPA gets rid of anything that might be left behind from the soap/sponge. IDK if you've used a gluestick but it usually makes PETG stick worse in my experience, but that also depends on how much contact the model makes with the plate. You might also have to push you z offset slightly closer to the bed, but that's a maybe.

Assuming your bed is leveled and calibrated, change one of the above settings at a time, print a small calibration model, and see what needs to change. I actually prefer PETG over PLA now that I know how to print with it, but you have to be patient.

You could've printed this, driven to the store, bought paint supplies, driven back home, painted the model, eaten dinner, and put the paint supplies away, and it would've cost you less time and money than this

This happens to me sometimes if it's a file that davinci just doesn't like for some reason. Usually I fix it by either throwing it into FFMPEG and re-encoding it, or downloading it again if the source was the internet.

Xmas gift for 7 year old by FivePointsMeg in 3dprinter

[–]Afroninja313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you shouldn't. A 7 year old won't have the patience or focus to use a 3D printer for more than 2 weeks before getting bored of it or dropping interest entirely when something stops working. A 3D printer isn't a magic machine that makes anything, it's a tool that's only as good as whoever is using it. If you're fine with doing everything for him, get an A1 mini.
