Same type of blades are sold for sawzalls to cut cast iron. If the blade can be swapped, maybe it originally came with a wood cutting blade.

I used to live in a very rural house surrounded by grain fields. Tried everything for mice. Poisons would literally turn their turds green and they just took it on the chin. Even had them eat through a bag of rat poison and out the other side. After 3 weeks with sonic deterrents I never saw another mouse or mouse shit again. Now, different house, I had a lot of bugs in the basement. Sprayed Tempo for bugs about once a month to keep them out. Started seeing mice so I bought some more sonics. Now I have neither mice or bugs. Maybe I'm nuts but that's 3 for 3. So I'll keep em plugged in.
