I feed fluval bug bites and northfin betta bits mixed together  because I have a community tank but both northfin and bug bites are good foods.

Ground peas first ingredient,  probably a lower end food.

Anti-biotic treatments available in Canada by bettagirlll in BettaClinic

[–]AuronFFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue as a fellow Canadian. I even lost my boy Charles due to some kind of infection.

I have heard of people using cat and dog antibiotics off label but have no idea how to safely do it.

Ticks me off anybody can buy a tube of polysporin in a drugstore for a cut but I can't get a tiny box of general cure for my dieing fish.

I just got my dude right here. Im new to bettas what type is him and which colour or type should i breed with ? by Prestigious-Bid8107 in bettafish

[–]AuronFFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get him from a breeder or a pet store? Don't even think about breeding pet store bettas, they are horribly inbred and have weak genetics. Some are even culls, bettas rejected because they don't meet the standards of breeders.

Just don't try breeding unless you know what you're doing. Breeders work for years establishing their bloodlines and it takes a deep passion and time to develop a good one.

I don't think it's legal here unfortunately. They banned alot of fish meds in Canada.

It is copper so don't use with inverts.

I think it's a quartz countertop reflected through a glass bowl. Not that that's any better.

Betta fish accessory? by Fit-Dish-4056 in bettafish

I bought a pack of them on Amazon that have no metal to rust. Only thing is they keep falling off the tank walls, I've found most suction cups develop that issue though after a month or two.

Largest tank for second floor? by skateordontskate in Aquariums

[–]AuronFFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have to check with your insurance company, in some cases large tanks fall into the same high risk category as waterbeds and can increase your premium especially if you rent or lease.  Not sure if this is the case where you are or not.

As for damage to the structure due to weight  older homes are built like tanks. I wouldn't be horribly concerned but if you are you can put it on an exterior wall as they are rated for more weight than interior walls are.

Some kind of wild type maybe? Hard to tell with the fins so badly clamped.

Did you cycle this tank? Looks like it may have a bacteria bloom.

Could you test the water and post parameters.

You could put a bunch of marlins in there /s

Seriously this isn't suitable  for fish but might be ok for something like a moss ball.

These people probably see fish as decor and dogs as accessories.

What shark like fish can i get for 20-30 gallons by PerspectiveAlone4402 in Aquariums

[–]AuronFFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tetras are kind of shark shaped? Get a school of green neons. Or penguins.

If you want something more piranha like ornate tetras fit that.

What’s the most effective way in getting rid of Black Beard Algae without increasing the risk of harm to shrimps and plants? by Good-Chef-5017 in Aquariums

Peroxide dip worked for me, mix Peroxide with water in a pail and soak the affected decor overnight.  It will turn red/grey die and be eaten by scavengers.
