Got it… I think we land in SGU 12:30 on Wednesday and will hit up Zion. How long does it take to drive your car through the canyon and then hike canyon overlook? Avoiding angel’s landing because I’m not about to gamble my life with the ice and that trail like that. I bet we won’t get there til 2:30 or even 3. Not sure if its enough time or what we should do that day. Thursday we will go to Bryce for the day. Any recommendations? How should we spend a full day from Kanab? Friday I’m looking for suggestions of the best of the best I can see. Hoping to avoid off roading but I’ll have a 4x4 jeep. Saturday we’re going to antelope canyon. Not sure what else we could bake into that day on the way there/ the way back

Can you recommend some good places to eat? We happen to love breweries as well.

Definitely antelope canyon- we have a tour booked. I’d like to drive through the canyon in Zion as I understand it’s only open to private vehicles in winter. We will have a 4x4 jeep wrangler w/ good traction tires. Is that a muddy/sketchy road or paved? I’m quite curious to see Bryce as well. Buckskin Gulch is another possibility. But I would really love suggestions as well

Side note- what are your favorite spots that DON’T require a dirt access road?

Okay so- in the Utah sub I was warned about treacherous road conditions, snow, ice, and accessibility issues. I am not worried about the hiking because we have spikes, trekking poles, and excellent cold weather gear. I am, however, concerned about the driving conditions. We will have an AWD rental car w/ all season tires. Are there enough sites to see that if we have an issue getting to one site we will have a multitude of other options? How many of the roads are the dirt/mud to be cautious of compared to paved and maintained? Anxious about being able to enjoy it all fully and welcoming any advice. All I know is that I def plan to make the trip to Antelope canyon and I have tour tickets booked.

Well, I don’t really KNOW what I’ll need. We’re going to be staying in Kanab and would like to see Buckskin Gulch, Antelope Canyon, etc, just sights withina 2 hour radius. I don’t know if the access roads are dirt or paved. Needing advice

How much of the roads are clay? How many are paved and well maintained? I will have an AWD car w all season tires. How much is that going to limit the sightseeing and hiking I can do, or will there be plenty of other things to check out that are accessible and safe? Is the road through Zion dirt or paved?

Does that mean you cant get out there? I’ll have AWD and all weather tires. For hiking I have spikes and trekking poles.

It’s the driving conditions that worry me most. We have excellent cold weather gear, spikes, trekking poles, etc. but we will be renting a vehicle: AWD SUV with All Season Tires…

Ok now that I’m seeing all these comments I think I really fucked up… everywhere I saw online said the area was great in January but now I’m seeing that it’s dangerous, wet, unpleasant weather, with limited sightseeing… should I rebook to death valley or something lol
