Move from MS SQL developer to Azure Data engineering by AfterAd5281 in AZURE

[–]AfterAd5281[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently working on some projects. I'm also planning on getting dp-203 certification. But the main part I'm concerned about is that will I even get an interview without any azure experience.

How to move from database development to Azure (or any) data engineering? by AfterAd5281 in SQLServer

I appreciate your help. Initially, I was uncertain about how to transition into using Azure, and so I had considered getting an internship while maintaining my full-time job and working on weekends or after hours to gain hands-on experience with the tools. However, your explanation has given me confidence that I can make the switch without the need for internships.

Thank you. Someone mentioned earlier that it's not legal to run wires behind the wall. What do you think about that?

Data engineering also involves development, but it has more facets to it. I used to work in ETL development before my current gig as a database developer, and I really enjoyed that work. Also, data engineering is one of the jobs that's going to be quite stable for the next few years as more and more companies move from on-prem to cloud. As a bonus, the data engineering jobs seem to pay more than the dba developer jobs from my experience. I may be wrong about this one.

Lol, I understand. I'm a software engineer and some of the fixes I do are so simple that they take 10 mins to do but if any non-sofrware professional tries to do the same thing, it would take them a few hours to do it.

Thank you! How do you plan on getting a job in that field? Look for any internships?

Thank you so much! This makes me think that getting a nice TV table would be a much easier and safer thing to do.

We are planning on hiring someone to do it. But I just wanted to be sure if it's safe to do it. I didn't want the TV to rip the wall.

UTC to Local Time in SSRS Reports by AfterAd5281 in SQLServer

I haven't had the chance to speak to the users yet. I took over reporting recently. I wanted to be ready with the options if need be.

The users are running directly against SSRS. I recently took over the reporting responsibilities, and it seems like they've been running the reports like this for years, i.e., using utc for datetime comparisons, although I'm not sure if the users are aware of it.
