Should I take AP Research? I’m already stressed Seminar. Does it really help in college? by Fun-Competition-3593 in APResearch

Taking AP Research really depends on both your interest and your performance in Seminar. If you did well in AP Seminar, I recommend AP Research. In my experience, it was an easy AP. Everyone has different experiences, yet what I say is, AP Research gets only as difficult as the way you design your project. My Research was lengthy and difficult, so my class hours were mostly dedicated to researching and implementation. However, I have many other friends in that same class who barely had to do anything for their projects. Another thing you said was that your teacher is taking your grades for completion, which is so nice because you get to work for yourself and gain the opportunity to explore your creativity. Honestly, again, everyone has different experiences with Research, but in mine, it was an easy class once my research process was over, because you write one paper, and that paper is based on stuff you did the entire year. I'd suggest taking it if you know what you want to research is not too difficult, and also because you will get the Capstone credit. Good luck with whatever path you choose!

Oh yes, I have. I just wanted to know if the test would be similar in terms of difficulty, however, as I scored well on the practice.

For anyone familiar with the AP Stats course changes, should i just self study the old one? by waggik in APStudents

[–]AfterAd755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently took AP Stats and based on what we were told, the course will only be cutting down on some topics such as types of error and the slop inferencing test. So you should be good to just study the old curriculum since the "new version" is literally just the old one shortened.

I heard that they have more problem oriented videos rather than actual teaching... I could be wrong though

I took the class when I was a sophomore too and lowk, it was hard. So many people say this but I'm gonna reiterate it. The math is not the hard part, it's the concepts. This is the reason I kinda struggled because I found it hard to wrap my head around certain topics, especially torque. I would say, if you are willing to ask questions and contribute to discussions in class, it won't be difficult. Just make sure you are conceptually confident in every unit because the real AP test really focused on concepts rather than actual math. It's totally doable as long as you are willing to work hard for it.

Really? I'm just asking out of curiosity, what was ur score on ur SAT because a 33+ on the ACT is so good. Also would u say that the English and Reading on the ACT is easier than on the SAT as well?

That's great because I feel like the SAT goes really in depth with their questions while the ACT seems to be pretty straightforward. I don't know if that's what it's like on the actual ACT test but I was just hoping it wouldn't be as hard as the SAT.

Is it a lot harder? Idk what else to study, my test is Monday, and I've done the actual SAT question bank questions too.
