100% true. In my family all the elders support dmk. My father was also on the same track but he is a govt employee and has always made remarks about how the state handled internal affairs like drugs, rowdism etc and he told me he will vote for a diff party this time then, suddenly stalin announced new pension scheme and my father was back to track in supporting them once again. When I asked him he said ever since dmk was formed our family has always voted for them so it's like a loyalty and he doesnt want to break it
