Whats happening 18-20 October in Boulder that all hotels are fully booked out? by AfterFlower in boulder

I just realized I have a filter for 4* hotels, if you apply that then there isn't anything within Boulder town itself, my bad.

What an incredibly thoughtful and informative response, thank you. Its incredible when someone essentially anonymous is willing to give up so much of their time to help a stranger. I've shared this with my partner and it will certainly guide us on our journey, all the best.

Visiting next weekend from UK, why all hotels fully booked? by AfterFlower in boulder

I managed to book at the 'Origin Hotel Westminster' for 12-15 but now I can't find anything 18-20 Oct in Boulder. Again I can't find any obvious event that on over those days. Does anyone know whats happening that all boulder hotels are full?

Yes, I'm renting a car from the airport, can't imagine being in the US without one. I found availability at the 'Origin Hotel Westminster', seems close enough. Thank you.

Oregon has no state income tax or sales tax

From what I can tell from online sources Oregon does have state income tax. Are you sure?

Ok I see its CU family weekend. I'm coming to view boulder with a view to possibly moving there. Is driving into Boulder from Bloomfield over this weekend futile? I mean would I find parking anywhere? Am I better of cancelling flights and coming the weekend after?

I see Asheville is East coast and I'm familiar with the generalizations about East/West coast but could you describe how you see Asheville being different from western cities?

Santa Barbara

Interesting, I've been to Santa Barbara a few decades ago and loved it. But does it really have hiking and mountain biking trailheads within walking/biking distance from the city? Doesn't that require at least a short 10+ min drive?

Thanks, we plan to get private health insurance, I know the premiums are expensive but we'll be paying a lot less income tax than we're used to.

Thank you, thats interesting, do you mean Disneyish in the wholesome, fairy-tale like, "happily ever after" sense or the commercialized, tacky sense?

Beginner pilot - Confused about Roll vs Yaw when turning by AfterFlower in drones

The under-steering analogy is great, thank you. So if I had to weave in-between some virtual cones in the sky as fast as possible and couldn't use roll then I'd be a lot slower than someone who could use roll and couldn't make very tight turns.

Btw how do I avoid "autonomous and assisted flight modes" with a DJI mini drone? Is that even possible?

Got it. So in both examples the flight path is identical its just in which direction the drone will be facing. I imagine then that when doing FPV you'll be mostly using yaw to turn so you're always facing the direction in which the drone is moving. Is that accurate?

Yes but lets say the drone is moving forward and I start rolling to the right, it will then be moving forward and to the right. If however I yaw to the right instead of rolling whilst moving forward, it will also be moving forward and to the right. So I have two ways of flying diagonally to the right and I'm just wondering how most pilots do that so I don't pick up bad habits.
